Moving is the worst, and paying a couple grand for movers is the best money I spent on this stupid house

The trick is to run diagonally, switching direction every few feet. It confuses the alligator's little brain and they can't change direction as quickly as you.

Climbing a tree is a good idea too.

If all else fails, punch it in the eye.

Don't try to out-swim it.

Was trying to figure out whether bottomless visit referenced my lack of energy to put my pants on or if it was the unending nature of my interactions with paramedics...like a bottomless mimosa.

Sadly, both work.

lol, i assumed the latter but now think it was probably the former

someone check my maths here btw

I've gained about half a stone in the last six months

based on 1 pound of fat = 3500 calories, that implies I'm eating at roughly a 800 calorie/week surplus

to lose a pound a week so i can stop doing this damn diet as soon as possible, I need to turn that into a 3500 calorie/week deficit

plan is to minimise snacking (probably saves ~300 calories/day, wfh encourages snacking far too much), go from drinking about ten beers a week to three (saves roughly 1400 calories/week and probably has some other benefits), and do some form of exercise every day, even if it's just walking a few miles (probably already manage 5/7 days so let's say this burns off an extra 400 calories/week)

that puts me pretty close to there, so a little tweaking of my main meals to avoid obviously unhealthy stuff should get me over the line I think?

tune into next month's pub for the exciting conclusion

Moving companies are one of the few optional areas of expenditure where I have literally never experienced buyer's remorse.

I generally write my check and say "Would have been a bargain at twice the price."

I normally think any future diet plan should be something you plan on doing *forever*

we're in a pandemic

literally nothing about how I live now is anything I'm planning on 'forever'

Bloo,

I definitely don't want to discourage you, but if beer is one of your great pleasures, going from 1.5 a day to 1 every other day might be kinda tough.

Unless your plan is to have the beer constitute the "add back" at the end of the diet?

I did dry January and survived, so dropping it to a few a week for a bit shouldn't be a big issue

I'll just have to find another vice

there's no calories in meth, right?

you will have lots of health benefits from cutting down on the alcohol

highly encourage you to cut down

i think it also speeds up metabolism and decreases appetite

so it's almost like it has negative calories

We had movers except our house wasn't ready when they came to take our stuff. Spent all day moving from storage to the house. Moving on heat is surprising better than moving in freezing. Also I've spent like a week with no power/heat and we have a generator so hoping we'll be ok. House has hurricane shutters on it too.

Oh and I've been surprisingly sober for the past few months but rewarding myself with a fishing trip with my family and cousins who live down here on Sunday so all bets are off.

How's your Harry Potter game doing? Are you caught up?

I'm still playing! But I take off during every Full Marks event for a short break.

Haven't played in months and it feels great!
