Also re: "daddy issues": I always figured it was men compensating for women who don't trust or don't like them, sometimes inappropriately, sometimes because we have dead on nailed them. Notice how we NEVER hear "mommy issues"...even though there are plenty of crappy moms out there?

I am NOT defending your dad, but some of us are crappy daughters. I called my dad today to wish him Happy Father's Day and his wife picked up his cell phone because they were just cleaning the kitchen after breakfast. So then my dad came on and we talked for 20 minutes and I forgot it was Father's Day. He had to remind me.

This post reminded me that I hate cutting cauliflower, so I googled it and found a Martha Stewart guide.

focus on the good. you have so much to be thankful for, and to be proud of. like you could legit be jumping for joy and screaming in triumph you have so much going for you. i know he's your dad and it hurts, but ****... as an outsider i see a hilarious, kind, interesting, strong woman. and if a dad isn't incredibly proud and grateful and trying to be with that daughter all the time, that is not a reflection on her, but on him.

Normal English in a impenetrable accent, plus a decent percentage speak Welsh

can you brits and others hear the difference between a new york accent, and a midwestern one, and a california one? i'm assuming you all can hear a southern american accent.

it seems like london alone has several accents. although i guess we have that in big cities here too, with like our upper class whities, and other cultures

Yes, but probably not as well as we think. The weirdest one I ever heard was like South Carolina or something.

The British Midlands (Birmingham) is supposed to have very rich accent diversity, but they all sound the same to me.

Dividers are up between seats, I believe, but people are still handling chips, correct? How many people are playing games with gloves on?

I asked the question in watbri's current Vegas TR, but I felt I should ask my homies, too.

dividers are up. i heard in vegas it's 4man poker. but in LA it's 8man poker. people handle their chips just like normal. i didn't notice gloves, maybe just a couple people wearing them. i didn't look all that close though.

i saw on the casino website saturday night there were tons of games going. i think over 100 tables going, counting blackjack and the asian games.

when i was there at like 10:30am it was about 80% of normal

they checked our temperatures to get in, and everyone was wearing a mask, and wearing it correctly too. i didn't see anyone with the mask hanging around their chin, or even just off their nose how you always see.

but i did not feel safe in there at all with the AC. and two casinos in az already reshut down cuz of covid spread.

oh, and no eating at the tables. no food servers. if you want to eat you have to go and order the food yourself and eat in a separate area. i didn't see any cocktail waitresses either
