More serious answer: I've had short periods in my life when I found myself holding on for a beer or two at the end of the day, and it was a beer (or 2) more nights than not - it was definitely a response to short term pressure and I could see how it could become habit forming if given the chance.
I think that having recognised it is probably half the battle - try to make the decision to have a dry evening some evenings, and go from there. And hopefully your life will straighten itself up and the need will fall away.
I remember going to stay with a girl one time when I was at uni, and her parents both hated their jobs pretty hard and had to have a massive gin the moment they got in from work, pretty much every night. That's what you want to avoid.
