On the other hand, we almost never become serial killers, probably because we allow ourselves to cry when we need to.

just my first inkling thought
pretty sure that having nothing to do is just as likely to impact on your mental health as too much - c.f. mothers' little helper

But I also contend that both genders are frustrated when they are told they are illogical (at least a random sampling of hundreds of werewolf games would seem to bear that out) but that women are, as a group, subjected to being told we are illogical/irrational/over emotional much more frequently than men are, and in every area of life: work, school, and personal. If women get frustrated by that reality, that frustration is just used as further evidence that women can't control our emotional reactions.
strongly agree

But seriously, I don't know why I don't like baseball much any more. I played for about 20 years and was a diehard fan for about 15 of those years.

I guess starcraft takes up too much of my time.

times i have cried since turning 18

2003: Morning after Sox lost game 7 to the Yankees, was on AIM and reading some away message a HS friend put up about his positive memories of the season. Just triggered some strong emotions within me and I started bawling my eyes out.

2005: End of the study abroad semester. It was just such a surrealy awesome time and I wasn't ready for it to end that I cried in the cab the entire way to the airport.

2010: After the Celtics lost to the Lakers in the finals I was reflecting on the run they had, and a few tears started streaming down my cheeks. Not because I was sad that they lost, just sad that the season was over because their playoff run was so magical.

Failed attempts at crying

2008: Lost my totally kickass job, felt depressed as hell and very badly wanted to cry but couldn't get tears to come out. Resorted to chain smoking instead.

TheNothing threw a mean elbow in the paint, I remember.

I haven't cried since August 2010, when I was told my dad was terminal

I can't even cry when I feel I need to. At funerals, or other stuff that I *should* cry at

Mildly concerned about that :/

this is as close to crying as i get - i think i forgot how, but i well up a bit and then no tears come out. Happens mostly in movies, although i think i might have shed a couple of actual tears in the toughest bits of LKC's birth.

I think i cried relatively late as a small child, so maybe it's makeup.

lol i'm not going to share how often i cry but i also have children (durr) and they make me cry almost daily (mostly good)

I definitely cry far more than the average guy does.

If Forrest Gump's mama dying doesn't make you cry, nothing will.

it's really 2 of 3 since i failed that one time

sports have always been my emotional outlet because i don't like getting emotional over real life. i prefer to have clarity + a steady hand, since emotions often undermine that i normally just tell them to STFU and leave me alone.

it might not be a good look, but i like it better that way.
