idk if you've seen this, but it's awesome! it's the girl from brazil who won the bronze or silver or whatever

with the skateboarding thing, i think there is something humbling about falling down on the ground, especially over and over, and failing. falling and failing. and i love how happy they all were just to be there, like they'd fall down and fail, and still be smiling and having a great time and cheering each other on.

compare it with gymnasitcs, which i also love. but man.. the gymnasts are so smothered by the immense pressure. and it's such a hostile environment. they often look so miserable and jealous, and mentally unhealthy. and they are caked in make up.
