I hope you have an ex model driving at least a Honda Civic
07-03-2019 , 10:19 PM
nah, this time i'm driving solo. filthywoman is going on another trip with her friend.

i asked another girl on vacation with me because I'M A HOBAG!!!

i barely know her, so she'll probably say no. i should have spent more time talking and joking with her before i asked her, but i asked her before is socially appropriate. first time in my life i've ever done something against normalized behavior

I've got to wonder what she would think (or did think) upon learning her nickname in these forums.

I did. It was a nice gentle roll that seemed to last over 10 seconds.

I liked it. Chandeliers were swaying!

i asked my ex, but she hasn't texted me back. she's still mad at me for dumping her. women. it's only been an hour though, so she might want to go. i think she might have a new boyfriend though, and he probably won't let her go on a cruise with her ex.

i might ask random cute girl. what could go wrong?
Some kind of stabbing?

Filthy, I forgot to answer your question about Japan books, and I forgot the question, but here are some good books about Japan:

The Pillow Book of Sei Shonagon, medieval era miscellany, stories lists poetry and the like from the heian court.

Anything by Alex Kerr - he's an American who lives mostly in Japan. He is a bit of an antiquarian (he names his house using an ancient character no one knows the meaning of) but he's quite eloquent about Japanese tradition.

Alan Booth - a British travel writer who write two books about Japan that are quite nice

Tanizaki junichiro - for my money, the best of the c20 novelists. More interesting than Kawabata and that dude who killed himself. His book In Praise Of Shadows is, iirc, a paean to the Japanese toilet.

Ian Baruma's Inventing Japan is a good, very short history of modern Japan.

There's probably loads more stuff I'm not remembering.

Needs more ice cream.

Speaking of which, if it stays this hot, I'm going to get obliterated in this race. I don't do well in heat like this.

Counterpoint: the last 5k I ran was the one I ran a month ago when I told you I was going to start running a few a week.

By an interesting coincidence, I, too, just ate a piece of cherry pie. Neither I nor my wife made the pie, but we know someone who grows cherries and sells hand made cherry products.

It was more interesting a few weeks ago before it doubled.

When I was a kid, cherry was my favorite pie. However, the one thing that makes me nervous about eating it is finding an undiscovered pit. That's a dice roll for surprise dental work.

Will be even more interesting when its at 100,000 and 1,000,000... Feel bad for the people who sold before 10,000 or were waiting for a dip under 1,000 to get back in...
