Not posting much on the internet probably has something to do with your optimism.

I don't but junior definitely does.

calling someone "junior" isn't a bad thing, even though i'm about to say something that makes it sound kinda bad.

in america it's more common among less educated people to call someone "junior". it's not exclusively done among less educated, but i think it's more common.

i wonder if it's the same in the uk?

btw, my mom got all irritated with me the other day when i called her grandmother instead of granny. granny is definitely used more among less educated

Close your eyes and ears if you're upset by people talking about ongoing games:

Spoiler:
I just got warned for saying,"...that I just can't even. Like basic white ***** status version of can't even" on [redacted] LUL

happy birthday willi

Junior is an Americanism, it's really not used much at all in the uk, and there's essentially zero tradition that I'm aware of of actually calling your child the same as you, let alone filthy vermin 3rd.

bummer to hear about AI solving poker

i liked the story about playing the new game where everyone was just learning.

a couple times we played no limit hold em where if no one raised pre, then the straddle was forced to min raise. this crazy guy suggested it, and it's silly, but pretty fun. and a sneaky way to double the stakes(that the straddle was already doubling anyway).
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Heh, sounds fun.

when kokiri said junior all I assumed was that he didn't want to reveal his child's name on the internet

I'm part way through the podcast but haven't reached the interview yet. I'm sure I'll listen to the rest of it tomorrow when I'm walking the dog and I'll report back what I thought of it.

is it too late to get in on Tesla?

They seem to be poised to seize the entire automotive industry...

Hey guys! Haven't stopped by the pub for a while, but you've usually got good opinions on these sort of things.

Moved in to a new place a bit over a month ago, the previous tenant left behind their bed and my roommates vaguely suggested that she would like to sell it to me. Just got a message saying she wants to come pick up the bed next week, giving a 2 day window. I'm really busy now and don't fancy needing to rush to find a replacement bed, I had moved in a couple weeks early so I could get everything in order before starting a new job.

Given that its been over a month and this is her first contact with me, I feel like I should be entitled to set the date to pick up the bed. Not that I would intentionally drag it out, but I shouldn't either be left without a bed or need to buy something without proper research just because my room has been used as a glorified storage unit. Sometime in the next few weeks I should get a replacement and she should be responsible for removing her bed from the apartment at that time. Do I have the right perspective here? What's my play?

let her pick up the bed when she wants and treat the time without a bed like a camping trip. It'll be fun.

Also if she's hot then you should seduce her. All the bed discussion should make it pretty easy

What Xander said.

Also, where's your moving guesstimania?

I googled this a bit out of curiosity and concluded:

1) The laws for this are different in every state.

2) Regardless, the legal responsibility (where any exists) lies with the landlord, not the next tenant, so she's not in any position to make demands of you.

3) In some states, she may no longer have any right to the property at all.

I'm in California. Regardless, I'm not aiming to be difficult, she can definitely have her bed back

I just got back from watching the touring production of Phantom of the Opera, on its opening night, here in Edmonton. If you didn't (or don't, if you are going to see it later) love the **** out of that show, then there is something wrong with you.

You know a show was great when the nominal villain gets the standing ovation during the bows.

I.e. go see it.
