Probably go to a bed store for the bed and a sofa store for the sofa. Again, glad you gave that same sentiment.

It's been so long since I bought a computer/tv I don't even know what to look for in one. Don't want to spend $$$ on the top of the line model. Want something reasonably priced and decent quality.
Not sure what "overpaying" is for you but the TCL 5 series and 6 series are really good TVs for the money. $599 and $899 respectively.

Just go buy an Ikea and live there tbh.
Our Queen Hemnes frame was fine but the Kingsize frame for the master bedroom looked really weak to me. I saw the attached youtube on the internet, but what the guy did here was overkill, imo. I just braced under the midrail with two Ts made of 2 x6s so the small metal mounts on each end would have less stress. My wife then made a bed skirt to the floor. Something to keep in mind if anyone has or is getting a Hemnes Kingsize.

All our other Ikea stuff is fine and we are really pleased with it.

Happy December everyone!

I don't recall what exactly our bedframe is, but I know it's not hemnes. It's the one with the built in shelves underneath it. It is a king and we haven't had any issues. Had it somewhere around 2 years now I think.

xander - not knowing what is available in your area of the world, but I can recommend Kenmore appliances. Not sure if they are still around, but they were made by Maytag and GE, usually.

Trip Report:

Today I went to the place on the corner to order a pizza. The usual girl was there. She no longer smiles at me like she did back in the day. I said hello. She said hello. I put 200 pesos on the counter. She took it as if she knew what she was doing, then stopped abruptly as she was about to get me change and asked, "pizza?" I've occasionally gotten empanadas at that place, but only once since she started working there, and that was around a year ago. I get a pizza usually once a week, so that's about fifty times in a row. She threw some bills on the counter, I started to reach for them, then I stopped when I saw that she had frozen. There was a fifty on top, and it looked like two tens beneath it. The pizza cost 140.

It cost 100 for a long time. I suppose they kept it at that price because it was a round number which emphasized how cheap it was. I kept expecting it to increase, what with the 40% annual inflation and all. One day I went in and handed her a hundred and she didn't say anything, so I went and took a seat. Then I went and got back in line again after looking at the board and seeing the price had gone to 120. Even when I was back at the counter she didn't understand what had happened until I gave her 20 more pesos and said something. Normally I checked the price before ordering because I figured it had to be changing any day. That was the one time I didn't check. Soon afterwards it went to 140. I paid with exact change the first couple times, but then I paid with 200 and she gave me 80 back. I fanned out the bills and handed her 20 back, and she stared at me for several seconds before she finally figured it out. She said something about how she always forgets the price change.

So we're at an impasse. I'd already had my hand close to the money since I'd just dropped money there myself a moment before, and she hadn't pulled her own hand back very far. So we're both standing there with our hands hovering over the money. Finally she makes a move and fans out the three bills. She takes one of them back, then turns and yells to the kitchen, "Piedra al molde!" She catches herself halfway through the last word when she realizes she's saying thin crust pan pizza instead of cheese thin crust.

I'm now composing this post while eating the pizza. In American currency it cost about tree fiddy.

at the casino i always order the same thing. so now i just say "i'll have a bowl of misery, and side of failure, and to wash that down how about to glasses of despair? thanks"

I think you need to change things up a little, filthy.

I was at Burlington Coat Factory buying a winter jacket for my son. The ski jacket that my son finally picked was $225 but still better than the $250 Tommy Hilfiger jacket that he also liked. I got to the cashier and she said "Your total is $43"

I love Christmas sales!

i can't even. idk wtf is going on...

i have KK flop K94r. this guy checks out of turn. i bet 80 into 120. he makes it 600. i go all in 1800 total. he calls me 65s and hits a flush

about 30 minutes later i get into with this **** from spain that i have absolutely no history with at all. he opens. another caller. i have AJ and raise to 160. they both call. flop AAQ. check check. i bet 120. he calls. turn K he checks and i bet 300. he calls. river 5. he checks and i jam 980 into 1320. he tanks forever. he asks for a chip count. he tanks some more. then he finally calls with AQ

Seems like you overplayed your hand unless there's evidence the guy opens light and is a huge station. (You didn't mention the position he opened from.)

On a flop like that I'd often just check because I think it often earns you a bet from a hand which would just fold to a flop bet, and the EV of three barreling is marginal at best.
