without knowing your tastes

"wayne" a couple years old. only one season and done. high school adventure, hilarious, touching, great characters and great performances.

"mr inbetween" australian show about a hitman, just living his life of crime, and trying to be a good dad to his 9 year old daughter.

"rake" 5-10 years old australian show about an absolute degenerate criminal lawyer

Oh yeah, I think someone else talked about it before. Definitely going to be the first thing I watch when I pick Apple TV+. I've already seem the latter, it was interesting.

kinda ashamed to admit this but i just watched "all american"

it's 90% gossip girl. 10% friday night lights.

about a crenshaw kid who transfers to beverly hills high to play football

absolute trash. but i liked it

Thanks filthy, checked all those out on IMDB. I think I'll try to see everything except Wayne and All American at some point.

mr in between is universally loved on the tv forum here. it's a great show. final season just ended a few weeks ago. if you don't like it, i think you'd be the first 2p2er who didn't like it.

my favorite show from the last few years is "the great"

katherine the great goes to russia

it's a great story, and they make it funny too. they take it seriously, but it's also somehow a comedy.

also, i think it's the only colorblind casting that i've seen that i think works. at least in period dramas

I have not watched it yet, but Resident Ailen should be decent.

About finish to finish Mare of Easttown which definitely recommend. Loki was also very good.

These are few seasons out, but What We Do in the Shadows was one of the best recent comedies. After Life is bit slower pace, but good comedy. Might be bit British for some people taste.

I have also bookmarked these two from this year, but these are not super high on my list: Time and Leverage (Redemption).

Sex Education was also bit lighter comedy that was fine. It has some ups and downs, but I also like Dave.

Ted Lasso is okay, but this season feels really slow and have not enjoyed that much, but do not consider it dropping yet.
08-16-2021 , 04:35 PM
oh yeah mare of easttown was good. kate winslet will win all the awards for acting

i liked sex education myself, but not sure about recommending it.

i haven't seen what we do in the shadows, but im sure it's hilarious

Possible, but I wouldn't count out Anya Taylor-Joy.

anna taylor joy was great! but she'll never beat kate winslet at the emmies or golden globes

She already beat her at the Golden Globes.

(Kate was nominated for Mrs America though)

ah, im just talking about mare of east town. that was an amazing performance

maybe they won't go head to head, cuz queen's gambit was a different year?

They will at the Emmys, not at Golden Globes.

Thanks Willi, Mare of Easttown seems interesting. Expecting good things from Cate Blanchett in it. I'll add it to my list.

Seen first seasons of What We Do in the Shadows and After Life, they're alright. The movie version of the Shadows was better though.

Started only Mr Inbetween so far and couple of episodes in, it seems overrated. But maybe it'll get better.
