My wife's birthday is tomorrow. My sons' birthdays are toward the end of the month.

I love the concept. It sounds very much like you. Is most of your writing driven by character interaction/conversation? Not a criticism, just an observation of the technique.

It varies. For one-shots like this, though, typically, yes. They tend to be more "slice of life" stuff and I play to my strengths, which tend to be dialogue and relationships.

For longer stuff I introduce more action and plot. I have a Supernatural crossover fic where the boys travel to an alternate universe and meet a teenage ghost band and duel an evil ghost, a few smuttier items: one M/M and two F/F (those are under midnight_star), a time travel/alternate history line featuring the band where I got to play with songwriting (which was really fun) and a muffin shop ongoing story that is basically a romance and career story with lots of mouthwatering food.

And my series is Tales From the Poker Table where the ghost band plays different varieties of poker and that leads to little bites of romance and angst.

They are five years apart. Three August birthdays, two April birthdays.

I went to my first concert in a while. We saw Platinum Blonde at a casino. Still a lot of energy, but they have evolved a heavier, rockier sound. Great show, though I am a big fan of New Wave.

A moment of real class when they played Sharp Dressed Man as a tribute to Dusty Hill. They got that together fast

The drums are beating louder and louder for a new round of restrictions here, at least that's what I'm gleaning from my minimal contact with the news cycle. Largely checking out has been great for my mental health, even if I no longer know what's going on.

the covid numbers in florida are crazy. hospitalizations are at an all time high. they like 20xed from a couple months ago.
