What kind of car do you have? You go into a dealer and they should do it for you. Or, you can get one of these for less than $20..

If you do it yourself just keep in mind that the proper PSI for the tires is on a label on the inside of the driver door. Don't use the max PSI listed on the tires.

For example, my car label says 30PSI for my tires. My tires say max 35PSI. I fill to 30PSI, obv...

My tyre pressure detector goes on about every 5 days because one of the valves has a leak that no garage can solve.

Also, on one of my old cars I confused psi and bar or whatever, and massively over inflated the tyres. I drove around apparently with 4 explosions waiting to happen for about a month before it went for its annual check.

right. door. thanks.

the dealership is way out of my way, but are you saying that anytime i want, i could just drive into there and they'll put air in my tires for free?

i have a smartcar. i bought it at beverly hills mercedes

If you're already going in there to pay someone in cash, you might as well ask them about a car wash. I always use card. Get 2% back, don't have to go into a gas station. Win/win.

You can do this, filthy.

The trend around here is for gas stations to install air and vacuum setups that you have to pay for, which is annoying. There is a tire chain, though, called Belle Tire that has really great fully automated air stations for FREE. You just set the pressure you want (my tires were always 35 psi), put the nozzle onto the tire valve and wait for it to beep. When I had a leaky tire I'd go there a couple times a week.

If you don't want to deal with an automatic carwash, do they have car wash fundraisers in California? Around here most weekends you can easily find some youth group that is washing cars in a parking lot for $10-20.

wow belle tire sounds like a dream come true! they don't have those here.

and yeah fund raiser car wash could be good. but wtf am i supposed to do while they are washing my car? i've actually never seen one in LA. i can't remember ever seeing one in SF either. maybe i just wasn't paying attention

i miss my bicycle

It's a Smart car, how long could it possibly take?

Okay, fine, if the movies have taught me anything you're supposed to not-very-discreetly admire the Kirsten Dunst character before the Eliza Dushku character busts you.

Other than eroding your tooth enamel, what's bad about it?

Geez.. Just go to any random gas station. I'm guessing 1/2 are free and 1/2 requires you to pay some nominal amount. It's exactly the same as putting air in a bicycle tire. Find a 5 year old to do it if needed.

Most Smart Cars are 32 psi each tire.

But if your tire is low enough to signal a dash indicator after a few months ownership, I'm guessing you have a nail in the tire.

noooooooooooooooo!!!

if there is some problem like that, i might just buy a new car instead of dealing with the problem

Any big change in temperature where you're at?
08-03-2018 , 04:10 PM
LA, 90s in the day. 60s at night

Speaking of 90s:

This sheep reveals tonight!

How've you made it this far in life without ever putting air in your car tires...
08-04-2018 , 04:10 AM
i think i put air in back in the early 90s. but i don't remember how.

anyway, i think i did ok. this ****ing lady pulled up right behind me and was waiting to use the air machine after me. i was stressed enough as it was, and this ***** was watching me, judging me!

i over inflated them a little, at least according to the inaccurate gauge that is on the air machine. 29 psi for the front and 36 psi for the back iirc. i was about 3psi over.

on the way home from the casino i saw paramedics tending to a man on the freeway who just crashed his motorcycle. made me glad you all talked me out of getting one.

also, that stupid ****ing car give away cost me a lot of money. i played way too long tonight to make it to the midnight car drawing. i lost ~2500 in my last orbit. probably would have won money that orbit if i wasn't so tired. *sigh*

Why didn't you ask her for help? I always ask for help if someone is around and I'm not sure what I'm doing.
08-04-2018 , 04:41 AM
Hell, I'll ask for help even if I do know what I'm doing just on the solid chance someone else will do it for me
08-04-2018 , 04:59 AM
i am very feminine in many ways. but i am all man when it comes to hating asking for help.
08-04-2018 , 05:44 AM
"Hi, I've never done this before, do you think you could assist me?"

That seems very gender neutral imo
08-04-2018 , 05:48 AM
I used to ask for help all the time and couldn't care less if I get a "seriously?!" look. The likelihood of getting stuff done for you or talked through it step by step was pretty high.

Now I do more stuff for myself but I would ask for help in a heartbeat if I had zero clue.
08-04-2018 , 05:53 AM
maybe it's not an accurate stereotype, but a lot of men are terrible at asking for help. like the old thing about men driving around lost and refusing to ask for directions. it's true in my case. it feels soooooo uncomfortable to ask someone for help. part of it is feeling vulnerable, and part of it is just talking to someone.

kinda weird that i'm so uncomfortable being vulnerable in a gas station, when i love getting up on stage and being vulnerable in a dramatic setting
08-04-2018 , 06:35 AM
Maybe you should create a character that isn't afraid of talking to people or asking for help, then get into that character when you need him
