Today for the first time, my family went shopping at Amazon Fresh. That was a crazy experience.

You swipe your credit card on entrance, pick up the stuff you want, swipe the credit card on exit. Done. No casher. No human interaction. No waiting.

Prices were very uneven. Some things slightly cheaper than Walmart, many things more expensive and many about the same price as Kroger/Safeway etc.

Now the crazy part. My family entered as a group of four but only my credit card was scanned.. Different people picked up different things. Some items got passed to others to hold. Other things got handed off and then put back and repicked up. We then rescanned the credit card and walked out. HOW DOES IT KNOW?!?! Your items are charged to your amazon account and the receipt is emailed to you.

I rated the fun factor as 'high'.

One man's fun sounds a lot like creepy to me.

I'll cling to the ideal of 2 digits in blue ink stamped right on the item and then noted and recorded by a polite human being, non-zombie even. Pack those up for me in a big brown paper bag, and I'll see you next week.

the other day i got a burger from the casino. and it wasn't til after i got home that i realized i paid $40 for it!

it was just a regular old burger! lol i mean it had avocado and bacon. and it came with fries. it was like 28 i think. and i like the server so i gave her 40 and told her to keep the change. but i didn't realize i was paying 40 for just a burger! lol. i mean it didn't hit me til after i got home, cuz i wasn't paying attention to the price

They sell a burger for $28?!?!?! I thought most casinos sell food at a reduced price? (or at least use to)

they've tripled their food prices since pre pandemic

we also used to get $3 an hour towards comped food, but that's gone too.

i think the burger from the floor menu is like 15ish. but i got it from the restaurant that is in the casino. the food is better and more expensive.

The worst overall ended up being Germany with 0 points from the expert jury and 7 points from the public jury. Which was pretty satisfying.
They were just a bit worse than next-last France lol

Ucraine got 439 points from the public jury. With 40 votes that equals 11 points per country (the maximum is 12: 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) . Ludicrous.

And I stopped going to 5-guys because I thought they were too expensive. lol
