There are issues related to censorship and moderation where hard lines have to be drawn. This is what biggerboat is referring to. And yeah it's unfortunate, but eyebooger should have never become mod of that thread-- it should have been ianaww-- and the consequences of that sort of need to be reaped.

You don't know all the history though and bigger is right that there is more to it than just Kelhus. I definitely appreciate your motivations for keeping the peace and us all getting along etc, but there is still a 'serious business' aspect to what goes on here especially when it comes to political discussion-- which I'll fully admit is likely 100% my fault when it comes to political discussion and POG. But again, issues of censorship and banning are sort of a big deal.

I really don't have any interest in relitigating this, but just want to comment on a few things.

I do not admit this, and even if I did, being banned that many times and causing even the slightest hint of a problem would be enough anyway.

You don't know all of the minor actions that I've taken.

Also, you don't know all of the minor actions I haven't taken.

The median poster here seems to think the ban was justified and if anything that I was not quick enough in banning him.

So go make an ATF post about it if you feel that strongly.

As for Jsmith, you can make the case that he should be banned. (And probably many people here would support it if I did). Maybe it was an error not to ban him.

The key differences in this case are the number of times permabanned and the fact that at least one of the bans was by a POG mod.
