POG Politics Thread Version 3 - Page 16 - Puzzles and Other Games Forum

I've been thinking about it and I think I'm going to join the petition to permanently end the politics thread.

POG had just started to get rejuvenated and I think that this kind of drama is unavoidable as long as it exists. As much as I enjoyed having a relatively small space to argue about politics with people I "know", I enjoy the ability to play werewolf with people I know more.

While POG was a ghost town I didn't really care because there wasn't really anything to lose. But now there is.

I was the leading poster in both of the past two iterations by quite a bit, so I would hope my opinion carries a bit of weight. But I'm not sure how to formally make this happen. Do we need to PM the POG mods? Do we take a vote?

If the politics drama just gets transferred to the pub, it's going to turn off more people than having this as a containment thread.

I would support the permanent closing of the thread in the interest of preserving POG as a place for puzzles and games.

again I posted in the politics thread because it was a ghostown and it was an otherwise sub-par way to just stay connected and feel like it was still going

I'm done with that and would prefer to direct my energy into keeping WW and other games alive

I genuinely think the best thing for POG is to lock this thread and any versions created hereafter at least temporarily.

Give it a week and see what happens.

If we all behave ourselves then give it another week.

If it becomes a problem where we need containment then we can address reopening it. But for now I think we need to close it.

Even though I can post in the politics forum fine and the mods aren't out to ban me like under Wookie, it still isn't the same to discussing stuff with you all.
As much as I enjoy disagreeing with Birdman, he's actually quite correct a lot. And you don't find that elsewhere.
Also ianaww, Filthy too. It's a higher quality than exists elsewhere. I know people disagree but they don't count.

it's the only thing that kept me visiting this subforum at all after WW died.

i assume you will have that with more posters than just me, but i have no strong opinions. i'd just probably take this whole subforum off my bookmarks

But you're probably right Birdman and I do apologize for the drama I've caused and/or been a part of over the years.
Idk. The POG politics was ultimately born out of the intolerance that existed when it came to political discussion in the main forum. But we can't have nice things either.

I've never closely followed the POG politics thread my posts have been few and far between. Seems to me that there's got to be a 2P2 politics thread somewhere & that POG doesn't need one.

i guess i assumed I was the only one who wanted it open

but if there are others who want it open I won't fight to keep it closed

if it means more people will play ww then I am all for keeping it open

I saw like 3 people "out" VR's game and at least one person made a reference to the politics thread and I wouldn't be surprised if it was what caused the others as well

Obviously if that is happening then the existence of the thread is counter-productive

i feel pretty strongly about keeping the politics thread. BUT if you never posted in it, i would feel less strongly about it, maybe even not strongly. but i'd still want it open.

would the main politics forum allow us to create a "pog politics thread" there? obviously we couldn't be as restrictive about who could post in there as we are here and would be at the mercy of the mods there

but it could at least be a place for all those who are POGgers that want to talk with other POGgers could find them in a central location
