I can only guess. it's more than just going to a protest, but less than taking up arms

so people who want to devote an in-between level of commitment opt for encampment.

it's also probably kinda fun sometimes. I mean probably feels good.

what makes waaaaaay less sense is why it bothers people so much

Fetterman has been a wild ride.

Every time Oliver mentions Palestine deaths he says like "38% of which are women and children" or whatever number. Is that sexist racist or both?

Also what's the trust factor in the truthiness of Palestine coverage compared to something like Syria or Ukraine?

Presuming the implication is some lives are more important than others.

I think you could easily discern that on your own even if you don't buy it.

Can you think of no demographic statistics people may quote you would think are racist or sexist?

So, sexist in favor of women? I was trying to analyze for how it would be sexist towards women. I still don't get how it's racist tho, and I do see how quoting certain stats could be considered racist in certain context. One obvious one I see a lot is when people talk about police related crime perpetuated against black people, trolls like to bust out the statistic that most black men are murdered by other black men. Which I imagine is true, but in context it's being used to paint black people as hypocrites or dangerous

Ah ok, I didn't think your definition of sexist would be sexist!

Would only be racist if the stat is only brought up when it's Palestinian men whose lives don't matter but if it were like Spain or Greece or Ukraine or Israel news would just say "lots of people died".

I don't think this matters that much, but it's obviously an appeal to emotion. Oddly I think you could even say a really low number but if you phrased it like that people would think it's bad. 7.89% of deaths are women and children.

Last night, I was watching the ucla raid. I didn't see anyone hauling Filthy away. I was disappointed.

Also, I find it interesting that universities are coming down on the protestors while having plaques on buildings commemorating civil disobedience and building takeovers during the 70's.
