so im watching this movie, and this soldier is in ww2 and getting shot in the woods, miserable conditions. and it's showing this montage of what his life could have been back at home marrying his sweetheart, and im thinking "he's better off getting shot at in the war"

What point were you trying to make with this post?

None really other than I misinterpreted your intentions and it was vaguely on topic.

Though in real time I did wonder how to tactfully respond to something like that. Saying "good", or "congrats" seems off.

So you brought up my murdered family member to not make a point?

Maybe just be honest with your motivations. If you say something to hurt someone, own it.

And thank you to the rest of you for your tacit approval. I needed this reminder.

I think everyone here knows you know others motivations better than themselves.

bringing up murdered relatives in a gotcha post is crossing the line

i've come to like pwns a lot more in the past couple years. and i think he makes great posts. i'd like to think this one was a mistake, and wasn't meant to cause pain about something so raw

i know sometimes i make really stupid posts that i didn't fully think through, and i feel terrible when i do.

and to crossnerd

sorry buddy

It's $10.30. We're hiring at $15.

it's insane the fed min wage is $7 an hour or whatver it is.

the fruitbowl at the casino is $16

a trip to the hospital is 300k

a home is 500k or 70k hours of work

avg child cost like 250k or whatever

almost makes you miss [he who shall not be named], who would ramble off the script the MIC provided him and instead talk about how he enjoys golden showers.

I was eating lunch at McDonald's and overheard a grandmother talking on her iPhone.

She currently has 6 job offers, expecting 2 more and the minimum offer was $15/hour. I chuckled over her discussing fringe benefits at the various places.

Yeah, sounds pretty tough outthere.

if we can’t rely on one anecdotal account by internet user Mark_K eves dropping on a phone conversation at a Mcdonald’s to draw conclusions about the national economy then what can we rely on, really?

$15/hour is $1/hour more than minimum wage in California, correct?
