So like...lowering the corporate tax rate in America wouldn’t actually do anything.

As it is most companies in this country have tons of cash on their books anyways. They aren’t investing that cash anywhere in this country because there is no good place to invest. Lowering the corporate tax rate with the idea that companies would re-patriate the money is silly if they aren’t even using the tons of cash they already have to invest here. Even if for some reason they really wanted the cash back here they would just take a loan and use their overseas cash as collateral, effectively bringing it back without paying any taxes at all.

It’s not a question of companies wanting to bring back the money but not doing so to avoid taxes. The US is just not a great place for companies to invest anymore. It’s a much deeper problem. That much is obvious.

Baking a cake for a gay person is definitely analagous to baking a cake for a Nazi.
