The election was so close in the few states that decided the result that it probably isn't so much the absolute number of third party voters that matters but where they live.

other than possibly Nevada, I don't see where the Dem's new senate seats would come from

having looked into it a little, I'm sadly predicting GOP actually gains senate representation

both of these points carry the caveat that the party might actually implode before January
