With the caveat that I've only read one piece on it & working on the assumption that it's fundamentally accurate, it's a pretty solid example of why the standard of consent should be 'enthusiastic yes' not 'crying, and spending multiple periods in the bathroom recomposing herself before eventually stopping saying no' and he had plenty of opportunity to see this was a situation he ought to be pulling out of.

edit: where's the debate?
01-17-2018 , 02:09 PM
Yeah maybe you are right

The debate is wether she's allowed to consent, I guess. Or change her mind from no to yes or yes to no. I think she should be able to do both.

I mean unless we go full consent forms with witnesses crap of this nature will happen. The question is reasonable barriers and who the impetus is on.

It makes more sense to ban 13-15 year olds from having sex than this does.

Maybe the "problem" isn't even anything to do with sex but the general acceptance that guilting people into doing crap is ok. Like I assume we all get guilted into crap we don't want for whatever reason? Maybe the idea it's ok to act like that leaks into our brains.

I actually think this a good point. Think of all the ways people leverage their power over others to get their way in day to day life?

Frankly I don't see how this is so hard.

If she says "no", it's a "no". You don't keep asking to wear her down.

You don't pressure or convince her. If she really wants to do it (whatever it is), you shouldn't have to try that hard to make it happen.
01-17-2018 , 03:28 PM
Maybe I missed it in what I read but did she actually ever say no?
01-17-2018 , 03:30 PM
Indeed. Don't try to guilt someone into saying yes.

On reread and after asking some women the line she says "if we do this I'll hate you and I don't want to hate you" is trying to guilt him into seeing her as more than a pump and dump.

At that point he had to realize she ain't into it and kick her out

Mod(s) of this thread, what is your thought on letting non-poggers post twice a week or a few times a month if they follow along with the thread, but they can only post to get the thread off of a tangent? I think the echo chamber known as 2+2 political threads get a little boring and stale having small talk about tangents once they all agree all the liberal positions are correct and anyone who disagrees with them is stupid.

Ha, true. I've softened a bit and it's not like I do it to their faces.

This is the third time that you have deliberately broken the rule preventing you from posting in this thread. Do not do it again.

Your request is denied. If this thread bores you then you are free to seek out political debate elsewhere. There's an entire internet full of it.

Apple announces they will increase their spending by $15b/year for the next five years

also, Walmart is raising wages and giving bonuses, although according to Bloomberg it's because of labor competition and not because of the tax cuts

Amirite?

Deep State Alert

America's premiere domestic terrorist organization is now part of the Trump Russia scandal.

Quote:
The FBI is investigating whether a Kremlin-linked Russian banker funneled money through the National Rifle Association to help elect Donald Trump.
Quote:
the NRA reported spending a record $55 million on the 2016 elections, including $30 million to support Trump – triple what the group devoted to backing Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race. Most of that money was spent by an arm of the NRA that is not required to disclose its donors.
01-18-2018 , 12:27 PM
Undisclosed donors?! That’s unprecedented!
01-18-2018 , 01:28 PM
The precedent is Citizens United, the single greatest blow to Democracy in the history of America.
01-18-2018 , 01:33 PM
I dunno about that one. Definitely judges making **** up though.
