Regardless of point of view I thought this article was pretty interesting, interviewing four former campaign heads for 2016 Republicans about the 2020 Dem field, how to beat Trump, etc.

Prime Day might be more overhyped than Black Friday. It's inevitably a letdown and I haven't bought anything yet on a Prime Day. Hopefully Mark K is covering for me.

How come it's such a common thing where people ask Republicans how the Democrats can best win the election?

I'm not sure if I've ever seen that the other way.

I'm guessing in January 2016 that if you had asked those people "How can Hillary win in November?", the answer from all four of them would have been "if we nominate Trump".

Yeah, most people would consider supporting a murderer worse than supporting a racist

This was posted in the SE politics thread, so it's not from this thread, but I thought it was worth quoting b/c it's proof that filthy is not the only one who thinks Jeff Bezos is committing crimes against humanity

3. Public colleges free based on passing an entrance exam.
4. Health insurance companies eliminated and abolished, and the executives imprisoned.
5. Tax corporate profits instead of giving tax breaks.
6. UBI for all based on location, encourage people to move to states that have low populations
7. Jeff Bezos jailed for life.
I saw a headline yesterday (didn't click through to the article) that Bezos said he was spending his billions on space because we're destroying the earth. LOL'd.

bezos also said he was spending it on space because he "couldn't think of anything else to spend it on"

I'm too lazy to work around the paywall and too disinterested to sign up for an account, but the New York Times has an article that says Trump's electoral college margin could actually increase in 2020, even if he does worse than 2016 in the popular vote.

Seems super unlikely to me and since I didn't read the article I don't know what the premise is, most everything I've read elsewhere seems to focus on MI, WI and PA going Dem. There aren't really any states that went for lolHillary that are like to switch to Trump. It'd be a fever dream for them to pick up Colorado or Nevada.

wtf, how has this nugget slipped under the radar so completely?

Quote:
Donald Trump appears to take aspects of his German background seriously. John Walter works for the Trump Organization, and when he visits Donald in his office, Ivana told a friend, he clicks his heels and says, “Heil Hitler,” possibly as a family joke.

Last April, perhaps in a surge of Czech nationalism, Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed. Kennedy now guards a copy of My New Order in a closet at his office, as if it were a grenade. Hitler’s speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveal his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist.

“Did your cousin John give you the Hitler speeches?” I asked Trump.

Trump hesitated. “Who told you that?”

“I don’t remember,” I said.

“Actually, it was my friend Marty Davis from Paramount who gave me a copy of Mein Kampf, and he’s a Jew.” (“I did give him a book about Hitler,” Marty Davis said. “But it was My New Order, Hitler’s speeches, not Mein Kampf. I thought he would find it interesting. I am his friend, but I’m not Jewish.”)

Later, Trump returned to this subject. “If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them.”

In other developments, some heroic legislator has introduced legislation here in Michigan to ban hairstyle discrimination. I understand that has been made law in California, so we aren't first up.

While this is a great idea I don't think it will actually help the job prospects of people with mullets.

I assume that popcorn sales in the U.K. skyrocketed today and will remain highly elevated through October 31.

Careful with the hyperbole, if you want to remain believable.
