What fantasy land do these media outlets and politicians live in where they imagine American politics has any semblance of proprietary that needs protection from Trump?

lol

If you devoted the amount of time and resources to almost any politician at the National level that have been devoted to trump you would find far far more obvious evidence of corruption.

The ironic thing is that as much of a sleezball as trump is, he isn’t even nearly as corrupt as most of them because he just hasn’t been in the game long enough!

“Oh it’s totally different that Pfizer gave Corey Booker a small fortune. You know because Pfizer is ‘American’ (whatever the **** that means lol) “

Forbes still pushing for the green new deal because they hate themselves.

So, in the last few years 4 reporters have managed make the same mistake when pronouncing Dr. Martin Luther King. I read that the average educated adult has a vocabulary of 10 to 20K words, yet the same word keeps being the "mistake." So is it a random mistake? Statistically, that is as close to being impossible as you can come.

There are really only two logical explanations.
1. You have heard it over and over again from your family and/or circle of friends
2. You have used it yourself..

But, you know what may be the worst part of all this? That it is better to lie and say it was a mistake than to admit that 1 and/or 2 above probably played a role in saying what you did...

Maybe the link is the story you meant.

If it is... well obviously it's missing some context.

All this talk about russia and all these testimonies, but I haven't heard of a testimony on what they conspired to do.

Well not like I care that much in the first place. Just a curiosity. Maybe I just haven't been paying attention.

Well they aren't just going to be a random word but one that is phonologically similar.
[kiŋ] king
[kun] ****. Cun apparently asterisked out

I agree that there is probably some subconscious racism occurring somewhere in these errors but can't say for sure but it is interesting.

Conspiracy to rig the election ldo. Trump couldn't win without the Russian's help so be got them to hack the dnc. The Russians sent that to their friends at wikileaks and somehow got to Comey too right before the election.

Now that Trump is in he owes the Russians and is withdrawing from Syria and doing other things to benefit them.

This is the theory.

Decided to google "Forbes Green New Deal" because I thought I couldn't be the only one to notice the incongruity of such a pro-business publication pushing for this. (I am apparently)

But I found this going all the way back to 2010.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/davos/2...reen-new-deal/

The article isn't that interesting and it makes a bunch of the same points in the previous article I posted: that without a massive economic stimulus things will go downhill. Read it for yourself obviously.

My point is that Green New Deal was not invented by AOC and that it is part of a pro-corporate neoliberal agenda.
01-19-2019 , 11:56 AM

And to further complicate matters. Probably since he said this on Twitter it invalidates everything his magazine has published.

This looks pretty good on all the topics I've been hitting on: AOC, neoliberal/neocon warmongers, Green New Deal.

Quote:
Given the extent to which she has promoted herself as a “working class socialist from the Bronx” who went from bartender to representative-elect in a matter of months, the neoliberalism within Ocasio-Cortez’s proposal for the Green New Deal committee may be confusing to those who became convinced that the 29-year-old New Yorker represented a new “progressive” uprising within the Democratic Party.

However, since her primary win, Ocasio-Cortez has steadily moved to the right on a variety of issues that she had made the core of her primary campaign, suggesting that her role as de facto leader of a “progressive” uprising in the Democratic Party was little more than wishful thinking.
Should be mandatory reading for Filthy.

Yes the Green New Deal is what it looks like when the capitalist class co-opts and otherwise working class movement, Dustin

It’s not because they think anti-global warning measures are in their interests. It’s because it’s easy to take control of the movement and guide it as best they can then to try to fight it

For clarity what is being co-opted? The environmental movement as a whole or are you claiming that there was a better green new deal that was proposed that has since been co-opted?
01-19-2019 , 11:53 PM
Oh, I remember Mintpress. Thats the site that regularly sourced material from American Herald Tribune, run by a Sandy Hook denialist, right?

Right up your alley LB, never change.

The mainstream media lies to everybody, but the sources that YOU prefer, filled with conspiracy theory cooks could never lie to you, huh?
01-19-2019 , 11:58 PM
I had never heard of them before today. I thought they were a leftist site and it looks that way.

But sure attack my sources

AOC’s “green new deal” and basically all the other bull**** the Dems attempt to reduce climate deterioration are useful methods of blunting the environmental movement. You see it happen in the thread all the time. Scientists have told us that the US needs to basically reduce fossil fuel consumption by 100% in the next 10-20 years. And you come in here acting like carbon tax or some bull**** shows that the ruling class is behind global warming lol. Like a carbon tax is going to do ****. Or IANAW or Herbie will say I should be voting for Dems because of the “green new deal”.

You know the most effective way to stop actual health care reform from happening? It’s not anything that GOP is doing. It’s the ACA which is a total piece of garbage.

There are groups out there that will openly fight the idea of global warming. Like the Koch brothers. But another very effective tactics is sponsoring people like AOC to put together bull**** plans that are about 1% enough to do anything. Then call it socialism and act like it’s extreme.
01-21-2019 , 03:51 AM
i lazily never bothered to look at any details of aoc's green new deal. i just heard her talk about massive effort equaling ww2, and that seemed worth doing

if we need more than ww2ish effort, well... that is a mighty tall order

I make no effort to pay attention to what Fox News is doing, but in recent weeks I've stumbled upon several articles that seem distinctly more anti-Trump than what I recall seeing in the past. Yes/no?

As someone who also makes no effort to pay attention to what Fox is doing, I would guess no and that it is simply a perception issue. Fox has always had an anti-Trump element. Megyn Kelly basically destroyed her career over it. And still plenty of neocons at Fox.

Filthy (or anyone else), what are your feelings on the fact that AOC voted to continue funding ICE?

I would say it seems crazy to me that AOC would so quickly break with her campaign promises about abolishing ICE, but I feel like I saw the writing on the wall about her a while ago
01-22-2019 , 03:07 AM
So far she has voted for Pelosi for speaker, and voted to fund ICE. All while serving as a great distraction for people to ignore any important issues.

Meanwhile things are totally great in Ukraine. Hope everyone is glad that USA#1 launched a coup that put Neo-Nazis in charge. Thanks, Obama! lol remember when they gave that guy a Nobel peace prize?
