So, in the last few years 4 reporters have managed make the same mistake when pronouncing Dr. Martin Luther King. I read that the average educated adult has a vocabulary of 10 to 20K words, yet the same word keeps being the "mistake." So is it a random mistake? Statistically, that is as close to being impossible as you can come.
There are really only two logical explanations.
1. You have heard it over and over again from your family and/or circle of friends
2. You have used it yourself..
But, you know what may be the worst part of all this? That it is better to lie and say it was a mistake than to admit that 1 and/or 2 above probably played a role in saying what you did...
