Yeah, I don't think they deep dive into things like that. It's an ideology.

I had a pretty good friend that was hardcore republican. I mean, hardcore. I actually sort of intentionally lost touch with him because I got tired of listening to his 24/7 political ramblings. He was a pretty smart guy and nice as could be, but, dang, the politics just took over his persona.

But, that was the mantra. Government should be limited to those things. Period. No matter what the issue was, he could come up with a reason that the government shouldn't be involved. His arguments weren't completely unreasonable, just sort of myopic. Again, it's ideology over problem solving.

I'm really curious what he thinks about the current climate.

That's been verboten for a good few years. I think it's a bit silly, but there you are.

I feel very sad for anyone who is triggered by Baby It’s Cold Outside and would like to send them a virtual platonic hug.

I heard it while having lunch at Culver’s this week, didn’t really need the reminder that it’s a terrible song in addition to being unPC.

Some old things go bad, kokiri. Some people think its silly to criticize Disney's Dumbo, but guess what, its still racist AF
12-01-2018 , 08:52 PM
hey let's all gather around and listen to the song about date rape. listen up kids!
12-01-2018 , 08:56 PM
these things aren't going bad. they always were bad. dumbo was just as racist in 1945 as it is today.

heroic president george washington bought and sold black people. it wasn't ok in 1776

writing rapey songs wasn't ok just cuz it was 1950

Why you believe screaming "racist" at a racist will do anything to correct the racist's racism remains to be shown.
For the most part “correcting racists” is not the goal and will never be the solution to racism. Treating racism as if it boils down to an individual idea that people choose to have or not is of course all part of the fantasy land liberals live in.

Racism is the outcome of material conditions stretching back several centuries. The goal is to destroy the structures that have grown out of those material conditions and to then change the material conditions themselves.

In the meantime, individual racists should not be tolerated and instead be shunned, ignored, intimidated, etc. Not because it is going to make them change or because it will “fix racism” or even because of some moral idealism. It is to protect the victims of such oppression. To some extent there is no reasoning with racists, Nazis, misogynists, etc.

12-02-2018 , 01:18 PM
I mean, theres a lot to unpack. Tough to include it all, but I'd maybe have added the parts where she mentions that her family will be worried for her safety, and also her reputation will be ruined, but hes like nah baby, gotta get mah dick wet, totes don't care if you suffer a social death

Did they have ghb in 1950?
12-02-2018 , 01:40 PM
They certainly had Mickey Finns.

I'm not saying that you'd write it that way if you were doing it today, but I'm skeptical of people claiming that they've never tried to convince someone to stay out for one more drink, and I think I'd put the bar a bit higher.

Bad call there, buddy. Sorry.
