I'm a pretty big conspiracy theorist. Like the biggest. I won't allow anyone in all of 2p2 to out do me in that regard-- so I'll start with that preface.
And I continue to believe that coronavirus is actually a real virus that is really killing people. I have it from sources both in this country and in Brazil, that actual people have gotten it and not just politicians and famous actors.
But it would also seem to be massively overhyped and with an agenda behind it-- which is to say that I think there is also a lot of bullshit about corona.
I'm currently in the suburbs of Greenville, South Carolina where I've been for the last 6 months. I'm in a nice suburban neighborhood where people have 2 story houses, lawns, fenced in backyards and 2 car garages. I walk the dog around the neighborhoods here, go around to various places, and go to the store about once every 3 days. Nobody is sick. Ambulances are not rolling down the street taking away dead people. Nobody is wheezing at the store. Nothing like that at all. I also don't hear about anyone being sick here.
And then there is the issue of personal pride and dignity. I don't want to feel like I'm cattle. Even though I know I am, and I don't want to feel that way. Being forced to wear a mask inside walmart when I know that there is an agenda behind all of this would be defeating for me. And I can't do it.
Ultimately things will continue to get worse of course and it might be the case that some actual serious diseases get unleashed on people. We'll likely see mandatory vaccines of which I'll also take no part in, and people without proper documentation will end up excluded from society.
I'm hoping to make my way back to the Pacific coast of Colombia to live with the Wounaan Indians (where I sort of have an invitation to do so) before that happens.

Why do you trust the numbers being reported? Why do we trust that the tests are accurate when something like 15% of all viruses are corona viruses and they are just (supposedly) looking at only small snippets of genetic material?

From Google sounds like wahoo was an "insult" that was appropriated.

Oh you think it's from the Indians or something

wahoo is an unofficial mascot of the university of virginia

Maybe I misunderstood what this post mean, kokiri

It seemed like you were saying we don't have the technological capability to centrally plan

And I was showing you that they were already doing a good job of centrally planning using a computer system back in the 70s

In which case I think we have different operating definitions of either/both of central planning and good job.

the correct answer to plural you is obviously "yinz".

What is the agenda behind people wearing masks? How does wearing a mask make you feel like cattle?

Unless you are trying to go to public school or attend a university, it is unlikely anyone will “force” you to get vaccine. Do you imagine they will be checking your vaccination records at the grocery store door? Do you imagine they’ll be pulling people over and demanding vaccine records before allowing you to continue driving on public roads?

I’m trying to understand.
07-22-2020 , 12:46 PM
vaccines are mandated in cuba for public health reasons
07-22-2020 , 12:52 PM
Once again - We (as in people) are smart enough to figure out how to eradicate a disease, but too stupid to actually do it.

Americans, especially.

I think the mask wearing stuff is to get people thinking that there is a serious problem and so that when a vaccine is released, more people will be willing to take it and those that won't I do think end up excluded from society.
You're right that the vaccines won't likely be "mandatory"-- it shouldn't have used that word. But they are already soft-peddling the idea of 'immunity passports' in the UK, which is about 10-15 years ahead of the US when it comes to people's willingness to jump when the government/media says jump.
The cattle stuff I can't really explain nor do I have a crystal ball for how everything will end up playing out. But things will continue to get worse until people end up demanding more and more draconian solutions which will ultimately see increased control of the masses by those at the top. That's just the nature of the world.

Did the mystery of how people at your wife's facility who were not allowed contact with anyone except caregivers and still contracted corona ever get figured out?

Quite a few of the staff has contracted it. I think they are up to 21 confirmed staff and 14 confirmed residents.

My guess (and only my guess) is that the temperature check isn't sufficient to prevent the spread. Pre-symptomatic.
07-22-2020 , 01:02 PM
Also, staff isn't limited to direct caregivers. There is cleaning staff and people that deliver meals to the rooms.

21 out of how many total staff and have any been serious?

I don't know the answer to either of these. I think I could get the first one, but the second one is doubtful.

4 residents have died of it.

Also, residents that get it are not allowed back until the 14 day (plus negative tests) is over. They (the state) have created some sort of never never land hotel/hospital to keep people like this.

But if you think they will be releasing some kind of deadly virus on purpose, wouldn’t you at the very least want to protect yourself by wearing a mask for the 10-20 minutes you are in a public grocery store? I do not wear a mask while walking my dog around my neighborhood, but I wear one for the brief amounts of time I’m in indoor public spaces. Once there is a vaccine, I will get it and probably not wear a mask again unless a novel virus comes out that is deadly and super contagious..

Wasn’t Trump like not endorsing masks until very recently he wore one? I feel like the government was literally saying this was not a big deal and nobody listened and shut down and bought masks anyway.. I may be wrong, but Betsy Devos pretty much said to open schools up and some people will die, but we should take that risk.. all the counties near me are going virtual. Is it some sort of reverse psychology conspiracy you have going where not listening to the federal government is being a cattle?

Yeah, temperature checks are not very effective. My local health department advised my school district on that this past week.

Which brings us back to testing. Or lack of testing.

We are up 1 to 2 weeks to get back results. Which renders it almost useless.

A complete and utter failure of our pathetic president and the federal government.
