It should have had a Wizard of Oz theme where you were Oz giving Biden a new brain.

A bit of a downgrade from Martin Luther King.

vid of a cop groping a protester's breasts while she is in handcuffs screaming for a female officer.

the cop knows he is being recorded and continues to grope her while she is in handcuffs and a crowd screams at him to stop. the mentality you have to have to do this... you have to feel like you can get away with anything. that's one of the main problems with police. they feel like they can get away with anything. it's so ingrained in them. i believe it's changing, but not fast enough. and their attitudes certainly aren't changing fast enough

i'm anti death penalty, but i might be pro death penalty for cops, politicians, landlords, and probably some others i'm forgetting

I live in the suburbs. Nobody wears a mask in their yard.

I think cops generally know what they can get away with and do exactly that. Most times just enough to claim some sort of deniability.

Here's a petition for action. The story is quite dark.

I'm actually not positive this is the same people. So the officer in question was once in a relationship with her?

Jair Bolsonaro tested positive for coronavirus.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

lololol.. Oh... having 2nd thoughts on this obviously not true addendum to the story ay? So they had a 9 year relationship of stalking, terrorism, and rape..... he staged an arrest with other cops present just an an excuse to do an open palm pat down search (when he can apparently rape her whenever he feels like).... and her objection to this was.... "I demand a female officer!"... not "I demand ANOTHER officer!", or "Get my creep rapist off me!"

You guys will just believe anything if it's pro social justice / anti-cop, conservitard. Really sick of Trump, so I better stay off 2+2 before you guys accidentally convince me to vote for him again.

mets, even you have to know what 'manifest destiny' means, and how racist it is. it's the same as 'we are the master race'
07-07-2020 , 12:46 PM
The intro to the wiki page on manifest destiny is quite loaded with info, sounds like the idea didn't really have support among the people. It even has Hitler using Redskins in a subjugating sort of way.

My memory of it being taught was just in a matter of fact literal kind of way.

Quote:
Historian Frederick Merk says this concept was born out of "a sense of mission to redeem the Old World by high example ... generated by the potentialities of a new earth for building a new heaven".[4]

Manifest Destiny has been condemned as an ideology that was used to justify genocide against Indigenous Americans.[5][6][7][8][9]

Historians have emphasized that "manifest destiny" was a contested concept—Democrats endorsed the idea but many prominent Americans (such as Abraham Lincoln,[10] Ulysses S. Grant,[11] and most Whigs) rejected it.[12] Historian Daniel Walker Howe writes, "American imperialism did not represent an American consensus; it provoked bitter dissent within the national polity ... Whigs saw America's moral mission as one of democratic example rather than one of conquest."[13]

Newspaper editor John O'Sullivan is generally credited with coining the term manifest destiny in 1845 to describe the essence of this mindset, which was a rhetorical tone;[14] however, the unsigned editorial titled "Annexation" in which it first appeared was arguably written by journalist and annexation advocate Jane Cazneau.[15] The term was used by Democrats in the 1840s to justify the war with Mexico and it was also used to negotiate the Oregon boundary dispute. However, manifest destiny always limped along because of its internal limitations and the issue of slavery, says Merk. It never became a national priority. By 1843, former U.S. President John Quincy Adams, originally a major supporter of the concept underlying manifest destiny, had changed his mind and repudiated expansionism because it meant the expansion of slavery in Texas.[16]

Merk concluded:

From the outset Manifest Destiny—vast in program, in its sense of continentalism—was slight in support. It lacked national, sectional, or party following commensurate with its magnitude. The reason was it did not reflect the national spirit. The thesis that it embodied nationalism, found in much historical writing, is backed by little real supporting evidence.[17]

According to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum Encyclopedia, Adolf Hitler's Lebensraum was the "Manifest Destiny" for Germany's romanticization and imperial conquest of Eastern Europe. Hitler compared Nazi expansion to American expansion westward, saying, “there's only one duty: to Germanize this country [Russia] by the immigration of Germans and to look upon the natives as Redskins.”

hitler and the nazis somewhat modeled their genocide on the american genocide. they studied the racist usa laws that put indigenous people on reservations, and took away their rights based on race.

That quote reads like a Donald Trump tweet
