I've mentioned this many times

"Doesn't that describe Mark" is talking about somebody, not to them. Bird always does that when he's defensive

He means well, but I wouldn't leave my dog with him overnight.

Edit: that's too high a bar. I wouldn't let him shut the chickens up at night.

He doesn't mean well. If he meant well he wouldn't be a bad person nor would he be in the position he's in splattered all over the tv and appearing on Joe Rogan.

musk probably thinks he is being a hero. but that is worthless. hitler meant well too.

mostly musk just means well for himself.

you can't pay your workers $15 an hour and tell them to work in your factory during the pandemic, and own several mansions yourself and be a hero.

Are people saying that calling Mark a libertarian is a personal attack?

Who said I hate anyone?

People get way too sensitive about this stuff imo. Just because I think your views are bad doesn't mean I hate you.

remember when he called that diver who was rescuing the kids trapped a cave a pedophile because the diver said his submarine wasn't a great idea?

I thought it was pretty mundane if an insult at all but mark is like a father figure so you'll probably get away with slightly less "insulting" him. Possibly the same with like vr or well named since they are generally just nice as well.

I've been wondering about how much we change as we get older, if at all. I think at least half the perception of the world getting "more pc" is just college age people becoming adults and getting away with less junk (because they are now adults so expectations have changed)

As far as becoming more conservative as you get older I think it's partly because conservatism changes (even if it is resilient to change) so whatever you believe now ends up becoming conservative. As much as you think you won't be your parents when you get older, youth may view you as if you're just as "out of touch".

There was a reddit post I liked where a guy talked about how some day he'll say to his grandkids "I can't believe the outfits people wear today" and his grandkids respond "come on grandpa, you can barely even see her butthole"

That's really just drawing a line that's Victorians->1950s->now. Real history is much more complicated. Iirc the founding fathers' political discourse was way cruder than ours.

Just as likely as little Nickie says "woah gross, Gramma is always wearing a bikini and telling stories about all the drugs she took"

I guess so. People enjoy different modes of argument. An irl friend of mine doesn't really like debate unless it gets really heated and shouty, whereas I just find it a massive turn off.

i was thinking about mark and his views. and i was guessing that mark hasn't had many close relationships with poor people of color. just a guess. i could be totally wrong.

but it got me wondering if the vast majority of people with reaganesque views, if they live in a bubble of rich white people, rich meaning they can afford to buy a nice home and never have to worry about putting food on the table or paying the electric bill.

and conversely, i wonder if the vast majority of people who are somehow able to have close relationships with poor people of color AND rich white people, mostly have anti-reaganesque views.

if that's true, it would mean that people probably wouldn't have reaganesque views if only they had exposure to people outside their bubble of financial security

I'd probably bet the next gen (maybe 8 and younger) will go reactive and move back the "other way". Hard to tell though.

I think there were some dating trends of people getting less promiscuous.

That was just some story not meant to be predictive.

Do people have close relationships nowadays!?!?

Trump attacking Bubba Wallace is not only stupid, but horrible politics

He just can't help himself sometimes

I've gotten a lot of recent practice at being insulted. It turns out, I don't like it :P

Tammy Duckworth seems like a pretty run of the mill Democrat.

Nothing sticks out in her voting record as surprising. Voting yes on FISA renewal is by far my biggest problem.

Don't think she's getting the VP spot. Have always thought it was going to be Kamala.
07-06-2020 , 12:57 PM
Kamala is not popular amongst black people

Maybe its not what you are saying, but I don't feel like my posts are heated or shouty.
