It's not a goal post shift with regard to wearing masks if you can't tell the difference between the two.

If the majority of people who have corona are asymptomatic and the asymptomatics rarely transmit it, then you're forcing everyone to wear a mask on what amounts to a parlay.

Because if there's one thing we know about this virus, it's that it's rarely transmitted.

Due to the crazy amounts of mis and disinformation, we hardly know anything. We don't know how accurate tests are, how deaths are being counted, the stuff about asymptomatic/pre-symptomatic, and we definitely don't know how easily it is spread.
Remember-- something like 15% of all viruses are corona viruses and the tests are looking at just a few genetic markers from what I understand.

And by actively keeping our heads in the sand and refusing to seek out information of any kind we can keep it that way.

look at total deaths by all causes. it's way up. that's almost certainly from covid19, which is almost certainly a very contagious disease. wearing a mask is not a big ask

you do know this isn’t what fascism is, right?

I'm sure there could be lots of reasons for that.

if you agree we don’t know much then why are you acting like you know wearing a mask won’t help?

Also you are shifting the discussion, Dustin

there is a difference between the government mandating people to wear a mask and the decision for you personally to not wear one

people are just pointing out that given the uncertainty and the low cost of wearing a mask, you and an inconsiderate moron for not wearing one

If I see people in stores wearing masks then I keep clear of them out of consideration. If they aren't wearing masks then I act like I normally would.
And it is being increasingly mandated and I'm pretty sure if the majority of posters here had their way it would be.

Fascism means different things for different people. But we've covered this before and this is a part of my definition.

You're right I don't know. But as I've said repeatedly-- I think there is both an agenda behind corona and that it is overhyped. It's true that I don't know what to believe but I'm not inclined to jump when the government and media say to jump either.

“wearing a mask during a pandemic is fascist, and the more masks you wear the fascister it is”

As long as you guys are enjoying those boots. Not sure how you thought fascism was ever going to take place if not for the people demanding it.

again, a government mandating masks is not fascism

if you don’t like the government mandating masks (again the federal government hasn’t don’t this), that’s fine. You can say that. But it’s not fascism. You can’t just make up definitions for words

I probably shouldn't even ask, but on what basis are you coming to this conclusion?

I always liked this take of fascism which is that the fascists are the people trying to control you and ruin your good time. I agree that ianaww's definition is a little restrictive. Talking on a cell phone in a car in a parking lot and getting a $400 ticket needs to be covered under any definition of fascism imo.
Previous post I wrote on fascism pre-corona.

Everything I see happening, the things I don't see happening, and my understanding of how the world works.

Everyone has their own definition of fascism. This has been long established.
I'm also fond of the Mussolini definition where fascism is the marriage of the state and the corporation.
