Speaking of "free speech ", apparently people in the out of the loop thread were banned for questioning the legitamacy of Chinese concentration camps.

There was a decent usps answer from about a week ago, though.

JSmith,

I watched somewhere under 15 seconds of the video.

I don't need Trump apologists to claim that he was set up. The stuff that he openly and happily admits to doing is enough to indict him as an existential threat to whatever democratic impulses still remain in our dumpster fire of a country.

He owns it. Nothing that video can offer will counter the words out of his own mouth.

wikipedia says usa homeless population per 10k is 17

and canada is 36

uk is 46

and germany is 79

wtf?!?!? can this be true? i can't believe it

Different countries often use different definitions of homelessness, making direct comparisons of numbers complicated.[3]

in LA county(10 million) we have about 100k homeless, and it's insane. people in tents all over the place, some sidewalks you can't even really walk on because they are covered in tents.

are there cities like this in other developed countries? i have never seen any in my travels. san francisco comes the closest, but in another country, i can't even think of any place that is even anywhere close

UK homeless doesn't sound as bad as that, but it's gotten way worse since the conservative government got in. (Almost like both sides aren't just the same...POG Politics Thread)

doesn't uk and eu have way more representative diversity than usa? the differences in your parties are a lot more than the differences in our parties, right?

i mean you guys actually have representatives giving you healthcare, education, social safety nets, clean water, relatively decent police, etc

i do see a difference in repubs vs aoc types, and it's a difference big enough worth voting for. but the difference between biden and trump is nothing to get excited about imo

if it was trump vs bernie, i would probably vote for bernie

Sorry, I'm super busy and haven't enjoyed any of the last bunch of we games I played, so I had a think and I'm gonna have to give it a miss.

I've heard homeless got pushed further west consistently, though never read anything to back it up.

saw this in a tweet, and it had a link to cnn article, so it's probably true

CNN polls since end of primary:

April: Biden +11
May: Biden +5
June: Biden +14
August: Biden +4

I saw more Trump 2020 hats at the local mall today than in recent memory.

if joe biden wanted to help the country and the world, and defeat the republicans, the best thing he could would be to drop out of the race.

it's pretty crazy that most people voting for him agree

Haha well I appreciate you starting it for me <3. To me it is more about the illegal tactics the government will be involved in (republicans and democrats) to spy on american citizens and weaponize that information through twitter and other forms of social media to try to influence elections and control people. It has 2 whistleblowers in it, who worked as government private contractors and they explain how it works. Also lol at that link of the video being down and the person who made the documentary got arrested on a sealed indictment

i was disappointed by cori bush on democracy now this morning. cori bush is the nurse from st louis who just won her primary for congress. she was homeless and on the front lines of blm, and now works as a nurse.

when asked about kamala harris she said...

cliffs: i wont tear down a woman of color. kamala f*cked up, but we have to beat trump

"Yeah, so, you know, that was, Joe Biden had the — you know, it was his pick, and he chose her. Now, what I’ve said before, I’m not going to tear down another woman of color. You know, I won’t be party to that. But I can’t overlook her past. And, you know, she has evolved in some ways, and so I applaud her for that. But we can’t forget about the people that were hurt along the way, people that — so, our incarcerated community, our Latinx community. And, you know, what about our single parents and our unhoused communities, that have gone through so many things because of decisions that she has made? So, I can’t just overlook that, because I’m one of those people. I may not have been under — you know, living in California, but I’ve gone through so many of those things myself, so I can’t — you know, you can’t just leave us bleeding in the street, and now everything is great because somebody else has figured it out, you know? So what do we do for those people? So I’m standing with those people. I do applaud her, though, for her success. You know, all the young girls and all our elder women that are looking, saying, “Finally we have somebody that could possibly be going into the VP spot,” you know, we honor that. But we won’t leave behind people that needed that voice at that time, so I’m going to be here for them."

and then later in the interview she said...

"And so, if people want me to tear something down, I’ll tear down corruption and greed and injustice and racial — racist systems."

which is what kamala harris stands for. cori bush needs to just speak the truth and not play political games.

i think we agree that a lot of trump's success was because he wasn't playing political games and being nice to politicians in his party. he attacked them viciously, and people responded because those vicious attacks were deserved!

biden and harris and all the dems deserve to be attacked viciously and we all know it. people need to start speaking out.
08-17-2020 , 01:46 PM
Dunno how much kamala harris has in common with black people other than being black, which in some ways obviously sounds like a silly statement but I think yall can parse it.

Didn't she benefit from being privledged and cronyism coming up through life/politics?
08-17-2020 , 01:50 PM
Cronyism almost never helps women, by definition. If it does, it's mostly by accident.
08-17-2020 , 01:51 PM
Am I allowed to say latinx or is that white people imperializing another culture?

Obviously this is a bit in jest but everyone is fine "correcting" crap they think is justified to correct.
