Election day is in 14v months but realistically nothing will get done besides campaigning the last 4
So realistically you decide
Spend 10 months tackling infrastructure, immigration, daca(which the dems don't even bring up anymore), iran, the middle east, health care, pharmaceutical pricing
Or trying to impeach a guy who you are pretty confident you can beat right?
Nancy is a lot of things but she isn't stupid.
Impeachment is a dumb political move
Trump will not work with the dems now but will continue to pass executive orders. The public will see which side is trying to help and which is playing political games
So yes, from a political standpoint, i am rooting for an impeachment push cause i think it helps trump
But for the good of the country, id hope we actually work together to fix things
I can only hope
1) I'm confused as to what you think Pelosi should have done in her spot. There is a significant push by members of her party to start the impeachment process. She can't ignore them.
2) Why is the onus solely on Democrats to "work together"? Does Trump have any responsibility to do anything? I thought he was some great deal maker.
3) If Trump really wants to cut down on this impeachment talk, he could start doing things like telling Steve Mnuchin to release Trump's tax returns to Ways and Means and not telling Don McGahn to defy congressional subpoenas.
