It only about 63 million of the United States's 325 million person population to send Trump to the white house. That's like 19% of the population.

One Person, No Vote: How Voter Suppression Is Destroying Our Democracy

It's not just realistic, it's reality.

Georgia has endless stories. The latest: ballots are being rejected in Democratic areas for signature mismatch. The standards for a signature match are like the old literacy tests. There is no standard, so f off if you aren't one of us.

Quote:
A disproportionate amount of Georgia’s rejected ballots are coming from Gwinnett County, the state’s second largest, which is reportedly rejecting nearly one in 10 vote-by-mail ballots. Gwinnett is also one of the state’s most diverse counties, with African-Americans, Latinos, and Asians making up more than half the population. It’s also the only county in Georgia that is federally required to provide election materials in both English and Spanish.

Toss out 10% of the votes for the other guy, win by a few %. It's realistic.

Exactly, so just my 2c, but if I were you I'd not stick my neck out "defending" met's bigotry, especially right after the entire threads respect for you skyrocketed into the atmosphere for finally denouncing President Evil.

This is awesome. I love Kshama Sawant the more I hear from her:

Quote:
Not even 24 hours since the news of his death and Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant blasted Paul Allen for being rich.

Sawant posted on Facebook Tuesday morning:

“Paul Allen was known as a philanthropist. He spent $250 million on the biggest yacht in the world in 2003; he also owned two more yachts and a fleet of private jets, several sports teams. He paid to put the Qwest Field on the ballot so that working people picked up most of the $425M tab. He spent half a million dollars to defeat the I-1098 Tax the Rich statewide initiative in 2010.”

The only sentence I didn’t like was the first one — she was certainly not blasting him for “being rich”.

Never taken that much of an interest in American politics (or any politics tbf) but started to get into it lately, anyone willing to give me a breakdown of everything Trump has done since becoming President?

(He totally stole that wall idea from Arrested Development btw c'mon lol)

I’m really tired of the “we’re tired of being politically correct”. No they’re tired of not being allowed to be bigots. There’s nothing about political correctness it’s wanting to be bigoted towards homosexuals, transgendered, and minorities.

Also I love the “left is mean to us because our beliefs are stupid and racist” crowd. Like no they aren’t mean to you, they are saying your beliefs are ineffectual/invalid and racist.

Thanks

EDIT: Oh I just clicked on the link after posting hahaha

All you have to do is ask them to give examples of things they can't say because of political correctness, and suddenly it becomes super clear what the issues are.

"political correctness" and "SJWs" are both boogeymen invented by fascists. For the most part they are total inventions and then *******s like Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro go out and find the most extreme, misguided examples, claiming the represent "the left" and use it to rile up their supporters against a phantasm.

It is amazing to me that in all the hundreds of videos that exist online of "beN SHaPirO DeMOLiShes CrAzy SoCiALIST" I've never seen him actually engage with someone who can make even the most obvious intelligent case for why his views are stupid.

It reminds me of that guy "the professor" who is like a former D1 basketball player that finds people to play him 1 on 1 for money and then posts videos of him schooling them. He only makes sure to pick people he know he can make a fool of. Obviously he isn't going to play someone who has a chance to beat him. Because its about his brand, not about basketball.

The same way with Shapiro he is about building a brand, not "conservative values". So then a bunch of drooling conservatives get energized to go to the polls and vote against some non-existent "political correctness" movement that the "crazy socialist SJWs" are pushing.

Grayson Boucher didn’t go to a d1 college he just went straight to AND1 mixtour or whatever which was massive in the early 2000’s. But that’s the best comparison I’ve seen.

My lawyer buddies in my group text always talk about Shapiro and basically they force me to do that classic right wing “debate” tactic, they say a bunch of **** that isn’t informed or even factual and I have to wade through all the bull**** and teach them how they are wrong just for them to say well I believe Shapiro. He’s really smart.

What kind of world is this?!

Eager for an opportunity to take advantage of the recent finding of the IPCC, the Democrats... (checks notes) crush hope for climate change agenda

Did you not actually read the article, or did you read it and then decide to just screenshot the headline without sharing a link to the article because you thought it might discourage people from looking up the article to see how ridiculous you're being?

With President Trump in the White House and Republicans favored to keep the Senate next year, climate legislation would face stiff headwinds, and pushing it could spark backlash from the right — both now and after the Nov. 6 midterm elections.

Considering those “constraints,” said Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.), Democrats should “focus on the practical and the opportunistic” to make short-term progress while fighting for bolder measures — “the aspirational goals” — over the longer term.

...

Not all Democrats share that view. Faced with more data on a warming planet — and the role of human activity in exacerbating the trend — some lawmakers want the party to use its would-be majority to push a bold, sweeping package to hike the cost of carbon emissions.

...

Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) said the notion that cap-and-trade or carbon tax legislation could pass the Senate and win Trump’s signature “is extremely unlikely.” He suggested Democrats adopt a two-tier approach: Pass piecemeal bills on issues where there’s bipartisan buy-in — like energy efficiency and grid modernization — while simultaneously holding hearings on the larger climate problem to build support among industry leaders and other stakeholders.

...

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), the minority whip, said Democrats across the board deem the warming trend a threat to both national security and public health, urging Republicans to tackle it in bipartisan fashion “instead of denying climate change is real and taking steps to exacerbate it.” He singled out energy efficiency and clean energy technology as two areas “of potential bipartisan agreement.”

The failure in 2010 of the Democrats’ cap-and-trade bill is still fresh in House Democrats’ minds. Republicans won 63 seats and the House majority in 2010, campaigning against Democrats on climate change and ObamaCare.

...

Environmentalists agree with the Democrats’ strategy.

“A long time ago, we came to the realization that there was no real possibility that truly progressive climate legislation was going to be signed by President Trump,” said Lukas Ross, senior policy analyst at Friends of the Earth.

Instead, Ross wants Democrats to focus on investigating the Trump administration and holding officials’ feet to the fire for its environmental rollbacks.

Ana Unruh Cohen, managing director of government affairs at NRDC Action Fund, said next year wouldn’t be the right time for big efforts on climate. The group is the campaign affiliate of the Natural Resources Defense Council.
