In other news, I think I'm going to grad school for the wrong subject. Last night my roommate and I were looking at a Math GRE practice test. Too easy. The physics test is much harder.

Probably the last followup. A mutual friend said to me today, "Cue, you've got to stop asking [her] out; you're creeping her out." FML.

that sucks. although if she gets creeped out by two emails and one bad maths gag, then it's no great loss. I'm pretty sure that the Full Tilt doo rag may be the solution to your dating problems.

You asked her twice? Wat? It shouldn't creep her out at all.

Next time, though, wait before you send the second invite. Give it a week and it will be less, um, creepylike.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure I've creeped more women out than you will in your entire lifetime.

If she's pretending to be interested while talking behind your back about how "creepy" you are, run far, run fast, never look back at her.

lol for some reason I believe this.

I think your mistake was asking her out for a second date without getting her phone number. You need to talk to her so you can develop rapport.

pizza in the morning, pizza in the evening, pizza at supper time. When a lady's on a bagel, you can eat her anytime

It's all good. Have a .25/.5 NL home game tonight where I'm going to drink heavily and bluffshove the river.

So, my boss spent 20 minutes yelling at me today, over some minor bug in an insanely complicated app I had to "tweak" to be a full accounting package - I swear to god, I couldn't start from scratch even tho the old one was just a summary report, because it would "take too long". I'm not kidding when I say she yelled, either. From F-bombs to "I'm tired of these programmers doing ****ty work when all I want is a few simple (lol) changes made, I HAVE A RIGHT TO GET THAT". So, yeah, F-bombs, telling me I'm bad at my job (not directly, but it was me), and that I don't care.

Then, she says No when I ask for my paycheck (already a day late) because "there's no money, we'll see tomorrow". I replied, calmly as possible, that I have a mortgage payment due tonight... not to mention a wife that's not working and two kids, but mentioning that would be whining. She spent 5 minutes humming and hawing trying to see if she oculd "find it" somewhere, before writing the check.

I'm pretty sure the only reason I stood there so long without saying anything is every time I opened my mouth it was to say both "I'll be back when you can pay my salary" and "**** you and your ****ty job", and neither came out.

I'm still livid, two hours later.

And, I have to meet a client tonight that's already given me a fiar bit of work, and has more for me, but we've only talked over email. I'm not in the mood to be friendly, but I suppose I'll have to sort that out quick.

Also, Cue: F that chick. Asking her out twice isn't creepy at all.

Alternately, your friend wants in her pants and doesn't want the competition

Cue, I'm annoyed on your behalf. When cool cats and frta boys ask a girl out more than once its persistent/romantic. If an intellectual does it he is a stalker/creepy. This was a double standard I had to live with my entire schoolife to the point where I just stopped asking out girls even once when i became a junior/senior. Glad to see it doesn't change in grad school. If she wasn't interested then she should have said no thank you im not interested or if she was uncomfortable doing that then at least make up a fake boyfriend. There is a very small contingent of women who aren't this ridiculous, when you find her it'll probably be on accident.
