dan, the show on the tv was the UFC mma. its still on, what match should i look for?

Having a really weird problem with my new theater system was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

When I hooked everything up to my receiver the cable has a weird pause/skip thing. Kinda like a cd skipping. Seemed like there was a problem with the HDMI connection.

To troubleshoot it I decide to test the port on the new receiver first. Hook up the Blu Ray to the receiver.. watch a movie for awhile. Test all HDMI ports on the receiver this way. No problem on the receiver.

Then I decide to test the HDMI port on the cable box as I was using component cables before. From Cable directly into TV is no problem at all.

I test all my cables via the blu ray into the receiver method and all HDMI cables are good.

So.. port works on cable box.. all cables are good.. and all ports are good on the receiver.

But when I go Cable Box ---> Receiver and receiver is set to cable input the video/audio skips and freezes.

Any ideas?

Wild wild guess...

Cable box is outputing 1080p and receiver can only handle 720p or visa-versa?

Also check avsforum.com there's a ton of smart people there that can easily help you.

Nah, cable is outputting 1080i but receiver is 1080p.

I went out last night and got snowed in half way. I tried to drive but my car felt like it was on ice and I almost hit a bunch of parked cars on a hill. Cabs were impossible to find, and on the way home I saw 2 of them in accidents. I ended up walking like 30 mins home in the snow with a girl who was in heels and a dress...you can imagine the whining. Actually there were 2 girls in dresses/heels, but the other one was with my roomate, so I didn't have to deal with it so much. Still...it sucked then, but looking back it was kind of fun. Now I have to get my car though...it's definitely buried in the snow on the streets somwhere.

For a Canadian city, Vancouver sure goes to hell when it snows.

yes we may be annoying and whine a lot, but guys don't understand how hard/painful it is!

Honestly, heels are NOT comfortable. Standing in them for HOURS hurts!

And imagine being outside in the snow in sandals and a bathrobe, walking outside for 30 mins.......tell me you wouldn't be cold.

Now add the painful feet to that.

see the thing is, you don't even realize we look better.....

but if u saw a girl in a dress with runners, or even in jeans with runners compared to the same girl in heels....u would notice a difference.....

You don't realize how much make up, hair straighteners, heels make a difference.....u just see the before and after ....

Meh, I guess what I'd say (even if subconsciously it's not true) is I think the pain in the ass that heels are for women to wear is more trouble than whatever additional attraction they provide.

Also I'm not much of a leg guy so maybe that's it.

By the way I could make a long list of **** I need explained to me.
