But I'm certainly safe to drive at some point over the legal limit— how much more I don't know— probably not too much more because I'm a lightweight, but a certain amount over it for sure. And yeah— for some people I'm sure its easy for them to convince themselves that they are fine to drive when they aren't.....
this sort of argument is the last refuge of those clearly on the wrong side of a debate.

How in any way have I been wrong? You haven't made any arguments.

Dustin, I thought you made a couple of arguments implicitly

First was "It's OK to drive drunk if it's late at night and I have no alternative way of getting home"

Second was "It's OK if driving drunk endangers others because driving sober also endangers others to some degree, so there isn't much difference"

That's a bit of an oversimplification, given that it might apply only sometimes and you were making it in reference to the actual DUI laws, so maybe it should be

"Sometimes the law would classify me as driving drunk when I'm not actually too drunk to drive, and thus not a danger to anyone"

I think that's a fair argument, but if the context of the discussion is situations in which you would objectively admit you were drunk enough that driving would be significantly more dangerous than when you are sober, than the second argument is irrelevant as stated, and the first doesn't seem very good to me

OK, so this is really disturbing. Some guy just knocked on my door to tell me there is a dead cat in the neighbor's yard. Only it isn't just a dead cat. The stomach has been skinned. The head is missing. It's back legs are tied by it's entrails. No way this was anything but a person doing it.

Who is this guy that's knocking on your door? Why is he informing you instead of your neighbor? Probably kids who think they're doing witchcraft or some ****. Ew.

The guy lives in the neighborhood and was walking (lot's of people walk down my street). The neighbor moved so I guess he just went to the next house down.

You know the limits of your car and yet you managed to aquaplane 3 times in one journey?

I've never hydroplaned in my life

Done two 360s on ice, but one time managed continue driving without even slowing down, but the other time pulled on to the shoulder because I was on a highway

So you know the limits of your car as long as you are driving in perfect conditions?

Aquaplaning once due to unexpected water on the road I can understand but wtf are you doing not adjusting after its happened twice?

it was on the interstate. speed limit like 100km/hour

first time i was passing somebody (but still going under the limit). felt the sense of having no traction so let off the accelerator obviously......I think i might have ended up just getting over and getting behind the guy but I forget

the 2nd time I don't remember what happened. The third time I was breaking due to the car in front of me unexpectedly breaking. I immediately let off the brake obviously as I was still following at quite a safe distance

And yeah— I lived in Phoenix for 5 years and haven't driven in a torrential downpour in quite some time. wtf?

And "adjusting" would have meant just pulling over. I was driving completely fine although its possible I need new tires.

its raining snow right now. I've never seen anything like it.

Its not hail. Its not rain. Its not sleet. And its not really snow either. Its like fluffy ice thats coming down hard.

*transition has been made to more traditional snow.

I'm sure the eskimos had a word for whatever I was experiencing though
