Deadlines
  1. Day will usually break at 9AM EST.
  2. Night will fall at 9PM EST sharp.
  3. Day Actions may not be submitted during the first and the last hour of the day.
  4. For night 0 only, the Night Action deadline is set at 8AM EST.
  5. From night 1 on, the Night Action deadline will be set set at 7AM EST.

Win Conditions

Role PMs do not have win conditions in them.
  1. The POG win condition is: “POG wins when it has eliminated all threats to POG.”
  2. The MafiaUniverse win condition is: “MafiaUniverse wins when it cannot be mechanically prevented from eliminating all threats to MafiaUniverse.”
  3. Other win conditions, which may or may not exist, will not be disclosed here.

Vanilla Poggers


Vanillagers (intended as players with no abilities whatsoever except for their vote) are not present in their game. They are subsituted by vanilla Poggers. Here is a sample vanilla Pogger role PM:

In this game, you are the vanilla Pogger.

On night 0, you may only submit the Investigate Action. Every night, starting night 1, you may submit all of these vanilla Actions.

Vanilla Actions may not be tracked or watched.

i) Investigate: Target a player. Depending on either the number or the percentage of vanilla Poggers that investigate your target, a Pogger (that may or may not be vanilla) may receive some kind of information about your target.

ii) Enhance: Target a player. Depending on either the number or the percentage of vanilla Poggers that enhance your target, said target may receive a benefit or be targeted by a protective action. Depending on the benefit or the action, this may happen during that night, the following day, or both.

iii) Thwart: Target a player. Depending on either the number or the percentage of vanilla Poggers that thwart your target, said target may suffer a negative effect.

Notes and Restrictions:
  1. Please remember that your vanilla role PM might be fake, and you may actually be a POG Powerrole whose vanilla actions hide very real abilities.
  2. It is worth mentioning again that vanilla Actions may not be tracked or watched.
  3. You may not target the same player with the same vanilla action during consecutive nights.
  4. You may, however, target the same player with different vanilla action during consecutive nights.
We hope the role PM speaks for itself, but we nevertheless feel compelled to repeat the following:
  1. On night 0, vanilla Poggers may only submit the Investigate Action. From night 1 on, it's triple action time!
  2. We strongly recommend vanilla Poggers submit their vanilla Actions on every night. Even if your vanilla Pogger role PM does not hide a Power Role, it may result in a Night Action that will change the tide of the game.
  3. While vanilla Actions may not be tracked or watched, they are may susceptible to all other effects that may affect regular Night Actions.

An additional note:

Please note that unlike all other Night Actions, the moderators will not react to vanilla Action submissions (not even with "Processed"). This is done in order to save time.

Do's and don'ts

The obvious
  • Do not edit your posts. This is an instant modkill.
  • Do not character claim. Do not hint at your character. This is an instant modkill.
  • Do not quote your role PM. Do not copy/paste it. Do not screenshot it. That's a paddl... you guessed it, an instant modkill.
  • Do not talk about unrevealed role PMs. We will judge this situation case by case, but never has the "better safe than sorry" proverb been more appropriate than in this case.
  • Do not nightpost: :00 GOOD, :01 BAD, :02 MODKILL.
  • This game does not allow deadposts.
  • If you are (or were) playing in this game, live or dead, do not talk about the game, to anyone, outside the game thread and private chats that may have been granted you by the game moderators.

The less obvious, but similarly important
  • Do not talk about subs and modkills.
  • Do not invoke for moderator decisions in the game thread. PM the mod account instead.
  • Do not intentionally edit the subject line of your posts.
  • You have signed up, so we expect you to participate. If you are unable to participate at all, please PM the mod account and we will try to sub you out. Please have a good reason: "I'm a rustled by this game" or "I don't want to play anymore" requests will be promptly turned down.
  • Players who failed to post at least 5 times by EOD (on day 1) or 10 times (from day 2 on) risk being subbed out or modkilled.
  • Players who failed to post at least 10 times by EOD but are not modkilled, will be mod-roleblocked for that night. Unroleblockable actions are inefficient against mod roleblocks.
  • If you have means of outside-the thread communications, do not post the text of such communications in the game thread.

About modding

  • Unless the description says otherwise, Day Actions may not be proxied.
  • If you have submitted a Night Action or a Day Action, you will receive a reply from us. If your action warrants no information return on our behalf, you will simply receive a "Processed". This means we have received your Night or Day Action and have processed it. If you have not received anything, then something happened. It is possible that we are suddenly busy processing other stuff, but if the delay seems unreasonable to you, do not hesitate to prod us.
  • Important exception to the rule above: Vanilla Actions will not receive any reaction from us. What are Vanilla Actions? Look above and find out.
  • If your Night or Day action had an expectation for information return, and something has denied that information to you (basic example: you have tried to peek someone and have been roleblocked) you will receive a "No Result" result.
  • Unless explicitly stated otherwise, your Night and Day actions are not compulsory. If they are not submitted, they will not be processed and will not be randomized. This applies to the wolf team nightkill.
  • If player A roleblocks player B and player B roleblocks player C, player C is not roleblocked.
  • You are allowed to pre-submit your Night and Day Actions.
  • Please note that should your Day Actions be submitted before 10AM EST, and another action be also submitted before 10AM EST, but after the first one, and a third action be submitted exactly at 10AM EST, the 3 actions will be processed simultaneously (at 10AM EST, of course).

Other useful notes
  • Please do not PM the moderator account for futile reasons during the game.
  • Discord will be useful to have for certain Events. It will be outright necessary for some of them. Feel free to add us on Discord: we are and UncleDynamite#2922 and mmmBop#6041.

ITAs

This game will feature In-thread Attacks (ITAs). They will start on day 2 and last as long as that gameday starts with at least 18 players. An announcement will be made on every gameday that features ITAs.

Ground rules
  1. There will be two ITA session on every day that features ITAs.
  2. ITAs will start on day 2, and they will be held at 12:00PM EST and 17:00PM EST, respectively.
  3. Each session will last 1 hour, though the moderators reserve the right to change the length if and when the playerlist dwindles.
  4. You get one shot per day, not per session. There are players that might be able to shoot more than once a day, though; this will be dealt in a future modpost.
  5. Shots are to be formatted in Bold Red. For example, Shoot Gaidsthebaids. As long as the target’s name is clear, further formatting is irrelevant.
  6. If your shot is incorrectly formatted, you will have to shoot at the same target ASAP (with the correct formatting, of course). If you try to shoot at someone else, or fail to shoot again because of what the moderator consider to be dishonest intentions (angleshooting) you and your team will be punished.
  7. If you intentionally submit an invalid ITA shot, you will be modkilled on the spot.
  8. If you intentionally submit an ITA shot that has a chance of being invalid, you will be modkilled on the spot.
  9. If you shoot at a dead player, you lose your shot.
  10. I will try to announce the start and the end of ITAs at :00 seconds. However, any ITA shot that was taken before the session is declared open will miss and the shooter will not get it back.
  11. This rule is valid for the whole gameday, so this is just a reminder: please do not spam walls of text, pics and embedded videos during an ITA session. Violators will be trespassed. Trespassers will be violated.
  12. ITAs will last until the day starts with 17 players or less.

ITA Feedback from moderators

There are three ways ITA shots will be resolved:
  1. “MISS.” This may happen for various reasons, all of which, I am sure, you can imagine.
  2. “HIT, [playername] is dead. [reveal PM goes here].”
  3. "A silent ITA shot hits XXX. XXX is dead!" [reveal PM goes here].

While we have just posted this in the Event Thread, but this is worth repeating:

Events

Event types

When an Event is advertised, the announcement will be accompanied by certain qualifiers. Let us look at them:
  1. No-recruitment: these Events are typically open for all players and have very permissive deadlines. If the Event announcement post states that "Everyone may play", the Event in question is a No-recruitment Event.
  2. All other Events are considered Recruitment Events. Specifically, if the Event announcement posts states that "N players are needed to play", the Event in question is a Recruitment Events.
  3. Safe for Phoneposters: players posting on mobile devices will suffer little to no-inherent performance penalty.
  4. Unsafe for Phoneposters: players posting on mobile devices will be at a severe disadvantage.
  5. Not Recommended for Phoneposters: players posting on mobile devices will be at a disadvantage, but they still have a non-negligible shot at winning such an Event.
  6. No risk of death: Players that voluntarily enter such an Event will not die during that event.
  7. Risk of death: all players entering such an event will get a pet rabbit. Just kidding - you know the deal.
  8. Event Sneak Friendly: Players with the Event Sneak ability may enter these events anonymously.

Event Rules
  1. Typically, events are held in the Event Thread.
  2. Events will last until the day starts with 15 players or less.
  3. Unless the Event rules explicitly state otherwise, no research of any kind is allowed during Events.
  4. Please note that events without danger or death may still carry some penalties for those that perform poorly in them.
  5. If a player that is playing in an Event is targeted by an ability, that ability will be resolved once the Event is declared over.
  6. Should you have outside-the-game chat, you may not discuss events there until they are over.
  7. Until the event is over, event participants must refrain from discussing it in the game thread.
  8. Unless stated otherwise (either in the gamethread or via PM) all prizes won in the events are claimable.
  9. If the nature of the event makes it possible, all prizes will be awarded privately. When all the prizes have been shipped, an announcement will be made.
  10. Once you enter the event, you must play to win. Even if you have been fakepeeked wolf twice and everyone else is a modpeeked villager, you have the obligation to play to win. In other words, no sandbagging and no colluding.

Deathmarks, Event Sneaks,
Multiple Lives, Silent ITA Shooting and Poison

Your role PM may say that you are a Deathmarker, an Event Sneak or a Silent ITA Shooter. Here is what this means:

Deathmarks
  1. If a player is deathmarked by two different players, they will die.
  2. If a player receives a deathmark, they are not informed about it.
  3. Deathmarks do not vanish unless they are removed by some game effect, should there be one.
  4. For example, if a player received their second deathmark, but is Night Angeled during that night (provided angeling abilities are in the game) the deathmarks are removed and the player survives.
  5. If a player dies while deathmarked, the write-up will mention than they were marked for death, regardless of whether that player died because of the deathmarks.

Event Sneaking
  1. If an Event is announced to be "Event Sneak friendly", players with the Event Sneak ability may participate it by inning via PM and maintain anonymity.
  2. However, unlike non-sneaking folks, Event Sneakers may be killed while they are anonymously participating in Events.

Silent ITA Shooting
  1. Silent ITA Shooter shoot via PM, and receive the results via PM.
  2. If a Silent ITA Shot is taken at [hh:mm], that shot will be processed after all public shots taken at that timestamp are processed.
  3. Unless the Silent ITA Shooter previously indicates (via PM to the moderator account) that they wish to take a legitimate, public ITA shot, any ITA shot they take in the game thread will be considered bogus and modprocessed as a MISS.
  4. When a silent shot misses, no feedback will be provided in the game thread.

Multiple lives
  1. This game may or may not feature players that may have multiple lives.
  2. Any action that says "kill" or "target for death" will take one life of its target (unless they explicitly say otherwise, of course).
  3. The lynch always voids all the lives of the lynched players.

Poison
  1. Should angeling or poison effects exist, angels will not save from poison.
