In our game, communication with the newer players was done (thanks to Tom for that).
1 post was considered "adequate" participation for game purposes, though there were some in game penalties (there was another 1-poster, don't remember who, they asked for a sub also).
One of the zero-posters requested a sub for personal reasons. The other one was able to post, at least minimally, on other days. So, *shrug*.
My policy is to grant subs when they're asked for by players (unless I think the reason is "I randed wolf and I hate it" or something, those people can EAD), and I would have subbed in for Myrologue on d2 if I had one available, bu we ran out of subs.
A lot of the newer players basically jumped from the wading pool into the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and were a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume (I don't think people who are used to being here realize just how deranged our large games actually are). It happens.
