Their site probably is better for playing, but it still feels different when you play with people you know. Playing with strangers is not that interesting. I have only played few times so my opinion probably is not worth much. Iirc last time I was tonewise doing fine and some other villager randomly ITA killed me bc she wanted to shoot BATM but accidentally wrote my name.

I once went alone to a CD release party which was in LA. This was for a mix CD from the dj sandra collins. In line I was talking to a woman who was surprised I came alone and said we should be friends. So I hung out with her and her friends and after the set she introduced me to sandra collins who signed a poster and gave it to me.

Quality of play on MU can vary a lot since the site attracts a lot of transient players, some of whom come from sites full of teenagers where gameplay consists exclusively of making random soulreads based off of 2 posts and then spending the rest of the game shouting at each other and refusing to reevaluate anything no matter what happens. But if you employ some game selection you can get 2p2-quality lineups.

there's also a huge variety of different setups which I would assume attract different types of players

and you have a notepad in the game that keeps notes for you and they are their when you come back

they are less tolerant with .. namecalling etc than here .... but you can curse and you can turn swear filter on or off

their discord chat is always active and there are several long games going at a time all the time. not many turbos go off tho
