Noah as a sheep mod ran a bunch of games, played in every game, and cataloged all the old sheep games into a database. He led by example. He also had a deft touch with the green arrow.

MB being modded would be quite the turnaround, but it seems solid. Younguns and thenothing also seem like reasonable choices.

It takes someone who makes a lot of personal attacks and gets banned a lot to know it when they see it so willi is the obv choice here.

Nothing you described requires the person to be green so good job good effort.

Tom1975 doesn't really cause that many problems.

Just pick one of the bigger troublemakers and make that person a mod. Look what a productive citizen nutshat has become.

The mod should obviously be someone who doesn't contribute all that much, because when they inevitably fall off the map it's not such a big loss.

They should also be someone with vast experience in everything pog offers

They should know the people very well

They should be principled and fair handed.

Note on timing

This isn't set in stone, but my rough plan is to let this thread run for a few days, collect nominees, poll them privately to see if they are interested, and then run a public poll of the ones who are interested, then discuss the results of that with TL and RJ and make some decision.

I would expect the public poll to go up early next week and run for several days.. I expect after that it will take a week or so to actually get people modded

Regarding time commitment:

The ideal mod would already spend a lot of time on POG and would see problems developing first-hand and be able to resolve them efficiently. For that person, moderating usually wouldn't require much extra work at all, except when you run into people like starrazz.

But if you're less active to begin with, then you're going to end up getting complaints about stuff where you have no idea what's going on, and then you're looking at a thread with 10,000 posts in it and trying to trawl through it to find all of the stuff relevant to the complaint, only to discover that there's actually some feud which has been brewing for months, etc. And werewolf tends to bring out the worst in people, so issues often aren't black and white. If you're not reading a good percentage of what gets posted in the forum, then you can easily miss the forest for the trees when people draw your attention to individual incidents. The main reason that I demodded each time was that I felt like I'd need to spend way more time than I would like in order to properly investigate each complaint that I received.
