Just had an idea...I think we could also do 1 round of Codenames long list games. The teams would be large (maybe 1 or 2 games run total), & each team would be auto-passed 24 hours after the other team finished their turn if they had not already finished.

Would allow for some consensus building, but no time for analysis forever, & teams would be large enough that at least a couple people would be around at any given time.

& I think the relative scoring for each event will be based on the # of people who play.

Also, lilrascal is on board to run the Word Twist, so that's awesome

I was just kidding. Triplechain isn't really a POG game, but at least half of the the regs who play it would have stumbled across it from seeing the TripleChain thread in POG, or hearing about it from another pogger.

It has been running for about 8 years, and the only place where you can discuss the game, strategy, etc is on the POG Triplechain thread. That is where the TC community is.

It a tough game to describe, and while a game only takes 5 minutes or less to play, it would take way too long to learn to play it well to be considered part of this. I have been playing for three years and I would say it took me 9 months just to become a middle of the pack player...

Each day there is a "daily challenge" and all players play the same board of random numbers in an effort to get the highest scores. Each player has an ELO type rating based on performance in the daily challenges.

It is one of those games where you play it for a bit and either say nah... or you play it and then say "yes," and get intrigued by the complexity of it and realize that it is a game in which you can always improve but never master..

Thanks for allowing the plug for the game... It is not a fit for your game JM3, but maybe someone will read this and give Triplechain a look.

I would be ok with including it. Would just pick a day in late November's daily challenge & anyone who plays can report a score. If not many people play, it won't be worth that many points. That way people would have a month to get good if they cared to, & if no one wanted to play, well, it wouldn't be worth much.

Maybe hang tight on that.. Zac (the site owner) is having trouble processing new players right now.. I will let you know when he has that fixed.

Yeah. Somehow. Will figure it out once we figure out exactly what's running.

I actually hate Boggle, so naturally I'll play in that and any other event. Just know that I am worse at these other games than I am at werewolf, hard as that may be to believe.

In for pretty much anything. Won't actually post in most of the signup threads, but assume I'm in everything unless I specifically say I'm out.

Even chess, where I'll get destroyed beyond belief.

I guess I need to figure out if I'm taking this kind of entry.

I think the 2 choices I'll allow is:

1) Post on the actual threads to in; or
2) Post a complete list of what you do (or don't) want to play in here.

Some of the threads, particularly Walrus, Paint & Grab Bag also require selecting things.

Are you running all of the games?

Lilrascal is running Word Twist. Unless someone wants to run something in particular, I think I'm just handling everything else.

Some things I think the players will just be able to handle & I can vaguely oversee, like Chess & Triple Chain.

I'm going to put up the 1st sheep-style game in the next day or 2 & give people a couple weeks to get in, & probably close entries to other games around the same time.

Anyone have any preferences/suggestions about what the 1st game is? Thinking probably just an easy basic SHEEP...

Also, going to kick off Thunderdome on Friday, with some longer response times & extra chances to get in with multiple answers for a while just to make sure no one who wants to play misses the 1st game.
