Besides tap abilities and the usual ww-abilities, there are also static MtG abilities in the game. Here they are:
Vigilance
If a player has vigilance, attacking does not cause the player to tap. This is a useful ability, because you can attack and use any tap ability you have later in the day.
RULES NOTE: Even if you have Vigilance, if you are tapped, you can not attack.
Flying
If a player without Flying
Arena Attacks a player with Flying - the attack will have no effect. That is the only scenario Flying has value. It protects Flying creatures from Arena attacks by non-flying creatures.
Venomtouch
If a creature with Venomtouch deals combat damage, the defending player receives a
poison counter.
A player with two poison counters loses all his/her lives and dies. An angeled player with two poison counters will die as soon as his/her protection runs out (EOD/SOD)
Spectrum
A player with Spectrum may spend mana as though it were from any colour. You only have to match the correct quantity of mana to play a spell or ability. Players with Spectrum can not control the colour (s) of mana they spend - mana colour (s)/colorless will be picked randomly.
Protection
A player with e.g. Protection from [foo] has the following benefits:
- All damage from [foo] sources is prevented
- [foo] spells targeting you will fail
- Tap abilities from [foo] players targeting you will fail
- Note that a [foo] player can still hurt you with spells, as long as these are not [foo]
Protection does nothing vs normal ww abilities, like for example a day vig or a night roleblock. It only provides protection vs MtG effects during the day. You can have protection from multiple colours.
