Is that The Wizard? I don't remember Christian Slater being in it, but that looks like the back of Fred Savage's head.

Sniped again. The girl in that (Jenny Lewis) grew up to be the lead singer of Rilo Kiley.

I think Slater was the older brother or something.

Christian Slater was his big brother. Playing all the old school favorites with Beau Bridges.
This was on yesterday. My son loves it.

Little Trivia:

Jackey Vinson, the Actor that played Lucas (the kid with the Power Glove) is a registered sex offender and is serving 10 years for child molestation.

My nephews love that movie too, especially the parts with Lucas. That's strange.

On a similar note, the kid in A Christmas Story that got his tongue stuck to the pole became a porn actor later.

That movie with Will Ferrell and Danny McBride...

Land of the Lost I think?

Yeah I knew about that guy.

A Christmas Story is one of my all time favorite movies. It's the only Christmas movie I still watch religiously.

Oh wow, Casino. Would have got it from the second shot, but good one on the first.

And yeah A Christmas Story is an undeniable classic.

The one and only time I've been to Vegas a girl at the poker table had a "Tangiers" chip as her card protector.

Everybody kept asking her where the Tangiers was. When I admitted to knowing it was from the movie she tossed me a redbird.

The desert scenes are shot so well. Love that film. I don't care what David Spade says.

Oh yeah when he used to be on SNL and he'd do movie reviews on weekend update.

Yeah, I'm not that big on it either. Especially disappointing considering it has that lethal Scorsese/Schrader combo. Maybe DeNiro is the vital missing ingredient...

I met Paul Schrader in 1999 (and again later, he's an interesting guy for sure). He was coming off Affliction, which is a great movie, and was absolutely sure both BOTD and Forever Mine would both be big hits and get him back in the mainstream. Yeah, not so much.

There's an indie film about ambulance drivers called Broken Vessels that is everything BOTD wanted to be.

Anyway....
