Can't really give any huge visual clues here. It's a foreign film, but it did have a U.S. theatrical release. The director came to the U.S. and has helmed several successful Miramax films.

arrghh, thought someone would get this. okay, it's Swedish, but was nominated for two major non-foreign language Oscars. Its filmmaker went on to direct at least FIVE Oscar winning actors in other films...

Well, I didn't know it, heard of it but never saw it. I actually cheated alittle <gasp> by looking up swedish directors on wiki, saw Lasse Halstrom and went from there. I spent 2hours earlier with just the picture clues.

There's no cheating in this game (other than looking at properties of pics which might have the titles in it). IMDB, google, etc. is allowed. Some of us like to try to get it without research, but there's no shame at all in looking up anything. Which is why I usually try to keep the first couple pics cryptic.
