First Impressions: You never know what you are going to get from JM3, which is awesome! This caught me a bit off guard, is this an EDMish sound? Idk, it feels like it is mixing a few things pretty effectively, it's a pretty fun song.
First Impression: OK, this is sort of in a sweet spot for me, classic bosa nova that is well done. I think I have something by this guy in my playlists. TBob got me into a bosa kick from some walrus a few years ago.

All of the podium songs could have walrussed; they are all exceptional and completely different from each other. But here goes...
First Impression: Jack Nicholson smiling head nod.jpg. OK, this is from 1979? Wow, so this sounds like it foreshadowed a lot of early 80's sound, anime / 8-bit sound, and later sounds all blended together in different movements. This song just makes me smile. Very cool.
First impressions: decent beat, not crazy about the vocals, but the lyrics seem pretty damn strong. I feel like this might grow on me on future listens. So to me this is much stronger than the Aesop Rock song above in like every way: the lyrics also read more like a poem, but a poem I feel is much better and cohesive, the lyric delivery feels more expressive and is certainly more pleasant to my ear, and the music behind it is more pleasant and matches the feel of the lyrics (melencholy reminisence).
This really grew on me a lot; I'll definitely be checking out more of his stuff. This is up there with that Samphra song from a previous round in expressiveness.
First impressions: I dig it! Hard hitting blues. I love that this sound is sort of re emerging a bit, The Record Company is another group that is releasing stuff in this same vein recently. Yeah this is a pretty kick ass song, I should check out some more of their stuff.
Not dead, just been really busy and possibly depressed. The next three weeks are still crazy for me (one of them I will be taking the kids to visit with my parents) but after that I will try to finish this thing out. (Small chance I will do some on vacation, since I won't have MY computers with me or any way to work on the things that I have been working on).
Two quick live blog items:
1. I'm going to see Kasami Washington and Herbie Hancock in August I think. Should be pretty sweet.
2. One of the things I am working on right now is a SkillShare class (making one, that is). Pretty interesting platform and I think the experience will be worth a trip report when I am done.
