Couple matchups that seemed to be even but the person who went through seemed to be the "better ratings choice"

Just had a new weird idea for the leftovers...

At any point someone can choose to pass their pick & take the 17 & 20th pick instead, & someone else could pass & get 18 & 19.

No idea when those passes would go in the draft if it were a thing.

That's not a bad idea but when winning a team challenge gets points we can't have some people with 4 contestants and some with 3.

I haven't looked at the scoring system so not sure what the relative value of having 2 probable scrubs vs. one earlier pick.

assuming same as last year

SCORING

Winning a mystery box challenge: 30 pts
Winning a team challenge: 10 pts
Winning an elimination challenge: 15 pts
Runner up elimination challenge: 5 pts
Surviving a week: 5 pts
MC winner: 50 pts
MC runner up: 20 pts

A scrub on a winning team would get you 15 points. 2 scrubs would get you 30. I think 2 'scrubs' would have a lot of value over most single contestants.

yeah the caveat is however if they get eliminated in the first week/early they give you no points

Last year the competitors averaged 70.25 points.

By round picked:
1st: 60
2nd: 95
3rd: 87
4th: 39

Weird stuff.

The highest scorers seem pretty bunched up...160, 160, 130, 120, 110, 110...not sure if that's a flaw in the scoring system or a feature.

But yeah, 2 scrubs probably better than sayyyy...lol Manny.

I stopped tracking points in the final weeks given I had 3/6 of the remaining contestants and thus couldn't lose. So the final totals were never finalized.

Ah, that makes much more sense & renders my statistical analysis meaningless haha.

It actually lends more credence to the idea that 2 scrubs might not be better than an early or even mid-round pick (Brandi was drafted 15th).

I thought his name was Newton, am I crazy or was that what they were advertising last night? Anyway I thought him and his challenger (Tom?) were just your typical "can probably cook meat but nothing else" kind of guys. But then they went ahead and blew that cupcake challenge out of the water.

I think we should add a stip that the team who has the contestant who loses on the second week gets the choice of either making no swaps or adding the 2nd last undrafted contestant BUT has to forfeit all points [busted drafted] got him/her week 1. Otherwise if Mystery box winner week 1 goes out week 2 in a surprise upset, for example, that team is going to be at a huge advantage.

I only watched the 1st half of 2nd episode so far, but it seems that one of the main guys from what I haven't seen is already gone, so that will make it easier. I don't want to slow things down, so I'll pick someone within the next hour or hopefully less, work permitting.

Yeah I was under the impression you inherited the player not his points

ie you only gather points for players on your team

My point was that if "Kyle" wins Mystery Box week 1, and then gets eliminated week 2, and I pick up "Steve" who went undrafted. Ofc I wouldn't get Steve's week 1 pts, but should I also get to keep Kyles 30 Week 1 pts?
