My phone app shows the first line or two before opening thread so if anything keep spoilers out of the first two lines and no one should have any issues.

If it's only 3 for surviving the week (I think), it should not be much for being safe from elimination.

But maybe the same as winning a team challenge? In a sense it's the same thing.

30 for MB win
5 for surviving a week
10 for Team win
15 for Best Dish in non MB
5 for Second best dish in non MB

I'm thinking that if this new Masterclass thing because a norm we just add a bonus 5 for "successfully completing a Masterclass"

Mystery Box/Master Class are basically the same thing. So if there's a lack of Mystery Box and more Master Class this season, the points should be the same for each.

I'm easy with whatever points but agree that winning masterclass should be worth X and successfully completing masterclass should be worth Y.

At first glance if making it equal to MB then:

30 for MB/MC win
10 for team win/MC success (winner doesn't double dip)
5 for surviving week
15 for best dish in non mb/mc (is this just elimination challenge?)
5 for second best dish in non mb/mc

Mystery Box always has 1 winner who "gains an advantage" in the next challenge. Examples of that are choosing the dish to be preformed in the elimination challenge, choosing people to grant safety or targeting people with certain disadvantages such as time deductions.

MB is also typically an ingredient/group of ingredients that chefs must use to create the dish of their choice

Masterclass seems more like an Elimination Challenge in that everyone participates and has to complete the same dish and that successfully executing your dish results in your safety.

That's why I suggested the 5 points for completion and the 15/5 for best/second in order to mimic the EC

The masterclass winner, gets an advantage in the next challenge.

Yeah but his "advantage" is being team captain similarly to the "reward" Terry and Nathan got for having the best 2 dishes in the first elimination challenge.

Generally the format is as follows for the Top 20 - Top 10:

MB -> EC -> Team with top 2 EC as captains - PT - MB

did they say that was his reward? i assumed it was something different. maybe since he's the only captain he gets to pick his whole team or something.

I know in one episode last year Stephen had the #1 dish and Shelly the #2 and they gave Stephen the option of picking his team or his protein

I wasn't paying much attn. Was the lobster not a MB? if not, I say just assign 30 points that would have normally been given to either everyone equally or who you guys determine to have 'won' it

It was essentially a mystery box, though they didn't have to cook anything
