The basic premise is that you go back in time 20 years. You have 6 lots of $1000 to use to make your fortune.

2x $1000 must be wagered
2x $1000 must be used to buy shares in a company
2x $1000 can be used in any other way

Some ground rules:

1). There is no causality/ripple effect. If you pick A then B & C don't change even if it seems logical that they would. All that changes is you make x amount of money and you can use it to have a nicer life. No ripples beyond your outdoor heated pool...

2). You can't buy lottery tickets or [Insert other draft breaking activity here]. Let's keep things interesting and creative.

3). If 20 years ago you were too young to gamble then let's imagine that some homeless guy called Pete will wager/invest for you an all he ever wants from you is a little spare change and a bottle of whiskey.

4). You don't have to use all your money in 1997. You can wait and invest it in 2017 if you want, but you obviously won't reap the rewards until then.

5). When you invest/buy/gamble you should give a few details about when you would do it and how much money it will make you and if necessary how it makes you money.

6). Everyone is on the honour system to commit to a pick without research but then can research the finer details once they've picked (Dates, odds, prices and other specifics).

7). You can pick from any category in any order.

8). There's only 6 picks which should make this a quick and enjoyable draft that doesn't run out of steam around pick #8

9). It is a one way time machine

Stocks you need to come up with something, buy at the right time, wait a while, sell at the right time.

Requires more creative thinking imo, plus there's always the chance for a lolfail if someone misjudges something.

So it looks like IPO was at $16 in 1997, so I could buy 62.5 shares.
They had a a 2:1, a 3:1, and a 2:1 stock split during that time so now I own 750 of their stock, and I'll sell it this year at it's peak of 1052.80, for a total of $789,600.
