i thought it was a huge deal for jk rowling to be a billionaire because of harry potter. harry potter is huge with everyone on earth reading all 7 books, and 8 blockbuster movies, and theme parks and a play and all that other **** that goes along with it.

harry potter is a real work of art. and as about as commercially successful as any art could ever hope to be. and ****ing minecraft makes more money! jesuse ****

For my 2nd 'other' pick I'm going to deposit $1000 on PokerStars on September 11th 2001 (same day that filthy will be on that plane)

I'm putting a grand on Party Poker around the same time. Games were way softer.

For stocks, investing in JDS Uniphase and Nortel in 1997, cashing out right before the tech bubble burst. When I first started working at the government, a few of my coworkers had a lot of friends who worked for those two companies and were paper millionaires thanks to stock options. I wonder if even 1% of them were smart enough to walk off with the cash before it all went belly up.
