Update:

My parents left on a cruise Saturday for two weeks. So, I had a bunch of people over Saturday night for scrabble and hot cocoa. Wink wink. Nudge nudge.

Anyways, I invited her over to meet a bunch of my friends that haven't met her yet, as it's going pretty well with us.

She never showed. Never called. Never answered my calls.

Apparently, she was visiting her friend in the hospital who had been in ICU after being struck by a car. She was walking in the parking lot and...yep, you guessed it, was struck by a car.

She's OK, no broken bones or internal damage, but she stayed at the hospital overnight as a precaution. This poor girl has gone through a lot of crap since meeting me.

That's the best excuse I've ever heard for not showing up for a date.

heh, I know you're kidding, but this girl is completely into me. That's why when she didn't show up, part of me wondered if something HAD happened to her, because I couldn't see her not getting in touch with me.

She's not stupid. She also told me she'd feel more comfortable if I had all my friends over on the weekend so I'm not lonely. Apparently she thinks I'm going to miss them so much that I'll start cutting myself. Silly parents.
