I was once in your shoes (many many many years ago). The best strategy is the NOW strategy. Don't put it off. If I gave someone my number, I want them calling the next day.

It's really personality type. If she wants me to call her immediately (like, right this second), then she's probably pretty clingy. And I don't deal well with clingy girls at all, so it wouldn't work out anyways.

Also, perceived scarcity is a vastly overrated quality when it comes to women. She either wants to go out with kyro or she doesn't. Calling now or later is not going to impact that except it's going to make her wonder if he's rude or waiting on purpose (which looks a lot more desperate).

In honor of Valentines day, here's a true story about me meeting my wife in 1996:

I was at a young adult conference for Catholics. The ratio at the convention was literally 5 single women to 1 man (OMG!). I was a volunteer/helper. Well, I was interested in this cute girl who was also a volunteer. I kept putting off asking her for her number. Well, the convention was finally over and people were leaving, I figured this was my chance! Well, except she left early... I was bummed and was walking back to my car and guess who was walking back to the center? Yep, the girl!!!! I proceeded to get her number. (Yeah me...) Well, I was busy that weekend, so I figured I call her the following week... Well I kept delaying it, figuring the next day would be a better time to call. Well one day... I was 50 miles away with another set of friends and guess who I run into??? Yep, her.... I was just sitting there and I look up and there she was walking right toward me... (OMG!!!) I was a little freaked... (LOL) Anyway we had a great talk, I apologied for not calling her. When I didn't call, she said she was really worried that she wrote her number down wrong...
Anyway, I called her the NEXT day, we set up a first date to go minature golfing (best 1st date activity imo) and well... we'll be happily married 10 years in August.
