OK my category

Covers of songs by my favorite artists OR BY my favorite artists

I love seeing who artists give props to or that influenced them by covering their music. So I want covers of the band's I most gravitate towards. So this 80's or 90's music...post punk, indie, synth, new wave, etc. Covers of their songs. My favorite artists in no particular order...

The Cure
The Smiths
Modest Mouse
Radiohead
Kate Bush
Depeche
REM
Pixies

But there are plenty of artists that would fit the bill...good guess is if they are from the 80's, are British/Euro and are not mainstream they probably hit my wheelhouse. If you want to post an artist I guess I could answer.

I don't care the style of the cover itself. I don't care if it is a direct note for note cover or a complete re-interpretation. I don't care if it is a live version or a studio version.

Here is a pretty awesome cover of Human League's "Seconds" done by LCD Soundsystem that is pretty much note for note but yet has a bit different vibe.



If the song somehow tops the original there will be bonus points though I doubt there will be too many of them.

Again if you want to submit a cover done by say Echo & The Bunnymen that would work to though I'm less likely to know of or like the original too much.

Sorry I have the olds but this really shouldn't be too hard

More obscure the better...I don't need to hear a cover of some song that was a Top 10 hit or w/e as I've likely already heard it.
