I'm sure everyone knows what to do by now, i'm sitting out this one but happy to run it

Sign ups will end in a weeks time (18th Feb) or when we get 20 players, whatever comes first.

Gogogogo

Because i'm too lazy to write it out myself:

Here's JMurder's intro, stolen word-for-word (except for the part near the end, which I'll mark in blue/red...)

As you may know, I am running a "Pogcathlon" where players can play as many different competitions as they want & earn points for their success in each one.

Walrus is a game wherein you select music, & other people judge your music. Standard Walrus usually has 1 host who selects all the categories, & a bunch of people submit songs & the host judges all the songs in each category.

This is going to be a different format wherein each player judges 1 category, & there is no main host. This is mostly inspired by Nick Royale's 2016 Walrus (& I was also reminded of this by the Grab Bag Draft format).

Here is the Sign-up Thread for Nick's draft, & the Reveal Thread.

All songs will be submitted to me, then I will reformat & send them out anonymously to the category judges. The category judges will rank the songs form best to worst (doing as much or as little of a write-up as they feel like), & I will reveal them in a reveal thread.

Bolt's Edit: I'll need one volunteer to receive the songs from my own category, so that I can play as well. I'll handle the rest of the categories.

This means each entrant will need to send two different PM's with their song choices. One PM will be to me, listing their song choices for everyone's category except for mine. And another PM to the volunteer with their song choice for my category. Yeah, it's a little more complicated, but I want to play!!!

So yeah, if you want to play, in here, & select a category. Depending on interest, this will be 1 or more parallel games (don't want to make people submit/judge too many songs).

Sign up will end in 1 week or whenever we get to 20 entrants. Whichever comes first.
Just ignore the red/blue bits

It is a normal walrus, grab bag was a joke lol

You choose your own category, whatever you fancy

Well by 'normal' I mean the same as the last one and the POGcathlon one, that's the normal version to me lol

Grab bag style. "Normal" is PokerCrazy choosing a bunch of categories.

I am in, and I choose Songs suitable for singing in a pub. i.e. songs suitable for drinking audience participation.

I'm in with family bands. At least 2 of the band members must be siblings or parent and child. Spouses and cousins don't qualify.

yeah I am in; here is the category I am going with I think:

songs by an artist I have never heard of

How it will work: if I have heard of the artist, it will automatically rank below any of the artists I have not heard regardless of how good it is/how bad the other songs are.

Some helpful hints: I am 25 years old.

Genres I like/know: Electronic (EDM, Chill, House, etc), Rap (mostly newer aged rap tbh), Indie Rock, Alt Rock, Post-hardcore rock

Genres I don't like/know: Country, Classical, Latin, and pretty much anything that would be classified as "oldies" by a 25 year old.

So looking for people to break out some of their lesser known music here. No real way for you to know for sure that I haven't heard of an artist, but you can use the suggestions above to help.

Obviously a trade off. Go with a genre I like = more likely the song does better but more likely I've heard the artist. And vice-versa.

Hmm. The song I was planning on submitting for bolt might do better for Dizzy. Even I wouldn't submit the same song twice. Would I?

I may have to switch to a song by three brothers, George, Michael, and Andrew Ridgeley.
