This has everything I'm looking for. Absolutely loving the vocals. Bass-line is excellent. Drums are decent. There was a small guitar solo that I wish was better, but hey, there are only so many Jimmy Page's in the world. I'm absolutely looking into the rest of their work. Definitely made my day, A+!
I thought you may say Rhinosaur is too obvious a copy of Dazed and Confused, not that it doesn’t sound like Zeppelin
I can hear that a little bit, but its really hard for me to get beyond the Cornell vocals. I grew up on 90s alternative, so it just sounds like Soundgarden/Audioslave to me.
This was the hardest one to fit in the rankings. There isn't anything that sticks out. It "feels" like LZ, but the individual pieces don't really feel that way. But there's definitely something about it...
Yah I thought bringing one of the best guitarists of all time would help. I didn't fully know how much it would actually fit because other than the hits I'm not a huge Zep head. Happy that you enjoyed it though!
Thats two fourth places for me. Finalizing my order now, will reveal 3pm GMT which I think is as you wake.

Thanks for all the submissions!
This sounds so much like Led Zeppelin. Fantastic choice. Actually really enjoying it...
I chose this category as I see it as the bridge from "old" music through to the "modern" era. Music has exploded in 1,000 directions since 1945, but, I think you'd struggle to find music that didn't have roots in one of the post war era I've chosen.
I didn't realise I would, but, I've kind of ended up ranking my choices in this way.
In general, there are three songs I didn't like, and six I loved in what was submitted.
Sure, it’s a product of its time which, alongside its contemporaries, clearly influenced future music styles. But in and of itself, I find it relatively boring, and a music style that’s only been improved and enhanced over the years.
For some reason I associate this kind of music with old-timey squares. Its decently written and performed music, but something about it just rankles with me. I think its been over done, reproduced and emulated in films and TV to a point that I can't take any joy from it
This was borderline like/don't like, but ultimately I found it just a bit too kitsch. The whistle, the lyrics, the doo-be-doopy do's. Won't be listening to it again.
I loved loved loved this guys voice- it has a haunting style which really raises the song. If I just listened to him sing this would be much higher.
That said, the song has a simple riff alongside a simple melody. Great for background music, and definitely sounds like its from the 50's, and will probably end up listening to him and his music a fair bit more.
Fantastic choice, wasn't surprised to see him included.
Lil Richards singing style is just so iconic.
That said, I've marked it down for three reasons:
1) YouTube went straight in to his Good Golly Miss Molly which I prefer as an example of this sort of music
2) Its not that complicated a song
3) A future submission, which in my mind is of a similar style, is far superior
3rd: Louis Jordan's "Somebody Done Changed The Lock on My Door"
The wail of the sax at the start put this right up top.
I love the story in the song. His singing is also magnificent, he knows how to hold and stretch a note to attach emotion and feeling.
That said the tone of his voice, and the music behind, lacks the emotion that modern musicians have put in to the notes themselves, suffering from the focus on enunciation that these mid-20th Century singers had.
A timeless classic. Fantastic riff. This guy plays guitar!!!
Compared to third place, where the focus on enunciation limits the song, here, being able to hear and understand every word adds to the pace. I think some of this can be lost in modern songs where mumbling and incoherence has crept in to up the rawness of the music. Chuck knows how to sing fast, clearly, but with real passion
I didn't realise this was what I was looking for...but it was. Kudos to the selector.
This feels like a bridge between the jazz styles of the Roaring 20's in to the more popular jaunts we're used to in modern music.
I ended up listening to this 4 times in a row and finding something new to love each time.
